GlobalScale Dreamplug available with external JTAG module

The following is an eBay listing for the GlobalScale DreamPlug that also contains the external JTAG module for a reasonable price especially if you are in Europe - http://www.ebay.com/itm/GlobalScale-DreamPlug-003-DS2001-Debian-Linux-Plug-Computer-PathView-110V-1702/222623623117?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

The external JTAG module is almost worth the price by itself as it can be used with most of GlobalScale's products and the cables can be modified for use with all other Kirkwood based systems. Picked up two of these for myself!

The seller just contacted me and he made a mistake as only one of the units has the external JTAG module! I've purchased that one so it's gone now.

Last night I had this web topic open for hours (while getting stuff done otherwise), and wanted to thank everyone AGAIN for being so nice to a newb and bringing up inspirational devices like the DreamPlug.

So today I went to the mailbox, hoping this optical DA converter came in - I was never sure what it would be used for but... opened the mailbox and... a DREAMPLUG in the box! Mind. Blown. Pchhhhhh!
Optical audio out. Pchhhhhh! Saw four separate, independent neighbors on the way home and told them "this is a computer that plugs into a wall". One at a time, their minds blown too: Pcchhhh... pchhehh... etc...

So to whomever sent it, words can't express my gratitude. I'll get on an eSata adapter in the near future and rig this up.
Did a little bit of initial research and it's saying Ubuntu and Debian run in it. Insane...
I'l go to bed and dream alright :-)

Shoot me a PM!

And let's ROCK soon!

That is awesome! Just another example of what a great, sharing and generous community here! It is quite a nice little device.

Joey,

Cool! connect serial console and then post in this thread:

https://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,29065

And prepare the rootfs as usual following the kernel and rootfs thread like you did before on Pogo V4 Mobile:

The latest rootfs is Debian-4.12.1-kirkwood-tld-1-rootfs-bodhi.tar.bz2.

Can I trouble you for a Micro JST 1.25mm?
I got the manual and am trying to get oriented.

Life in incredibly unpredictable this time of year due to winterizing in a cold climate, but I pledge to give you my best and hopefully not be a drag of a tester lol - !@#$% thanks a lot for the charity man :-) I'll pass it on (the favor not the dream plug) in my capacity :-)

That would be great! I'm still on the road for while. I'm sure Joey is eager to start hacking the new toy :)

I'm eager and can get to civilization by late weekend. Sorry my delay.
Feas sent cables, I cashed my last $1.50 on a SATA > eSATA adapter (says allow 1-2 months).

Thanks feas, Gravelrah, bodhi, Is there anything I need to prep?

Joey,

- connect serial console and power up, capture the full serial console log and post in this thread:
https://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,29065

- Use a new USB thumb drive, you can clone your current kirkwood rootfs (on Pogo E02 or V4) to it . Or create a brand new Debian-4.12.1-kirkwood-tld-1-rootfs-bodhi.tar.bz2 rootfs
