15+7 Pin SATA Power/Data cable

I was lurking to buy this Mosunx advanced SATA Combo 15 Pin Power and 7 Pin Data Cable 4 Pin Molex or this 15+7 Pin Power Data to 4 Pin IDE Power SATA Data Hard Cable. The former has 4-pin power cable while the later on has 2-pin power cable. Can anyone please tell me if the later will work to drive a 3.5" SATA HDD? The difference in their prices is only US 2¢.

The 2-pin is going to be 5 volts only while the 4-pin both 5 volts and 12 volts. In fact, thanks to an adapter you can wire yourself, you can use the 5V out of a standard USB port to power a 2.5" hard drive. That's what I'm using now.

And I could see good use to buying one of each, just because it's one less moving part when you wire up the adapter. Me and I think Bodhi - bought those adapters and they arrived here wired backwards! They couldn't get two wires correct.

Yes! good idea to buy both. What a steal at that price!
