@superelchi

Find out the problem
The firmware pt824 works well. It's the problem of the config blacklight.

Okay. So it's not compatible with pt824.
Please try attached fw.

Thanks!
It works very well with the origin config.
But while I set the backlight to a high value or just not config, the firmware pt824 works.

FYI: new model "taobao" in svn.

Thats just luck. Your display has a different brightness control. If you would try to adjust the brightness in the dpfs menu with the pt824 fw, same thing will happen.
So better use a correct fw. :-)

Please try attached fw.

@kroonen
Looks like your dpf-ax installation is broken or some dependencies are missing.

Yes, there is something strange going on in your dpfs lcdblit routine...
Please try this fw. Better?

Hello Papa Oscar,

do you mean you can see the eyes after powre on / reset and get a white screen on pressing menu?
Or is the screen always white?

Hello there,

I bought a DPF from this seller on Amazon which seems not supported :
sudo ./fulldump.py /dev/sr0
Opening generic SCSI device '/dev/sr0'
Manufacturer: Apple
Size        : 1 MB
Reading 100000 bytes...
Wrote full.bin

python identify.py full.bin
Looking for firmware.............: Found (coby, 128x128 px).
Looking for Openwin..............: Found.
Looking for LcdIniTbl............: None.
Looking for known signatures.....: None.
Looking for known version info...: None.

Sorry, no matching dpf found.
But following models have a partial signature match: [['abeyerr_black_2'], ['acme_1'], ['jovisa']]

No reference on this DPF, just the "Digital Photo Frame" on the screen face.

Edit: after further investigations using the supported types page, this DPF may be a variation of dx27893 firmware.

I've seen other sellers proposing this DPF (using the same picture) : http://preview.tinyurl.com/a5y9wc6

The full.bin is attached.
Thanks in advance if you can help!

Hi,

I got a new display device from delight. It idenfify itself as an taobao.

I get an error about the flash size. Is this a problem, or should I do an -f (force?)

root@gandalf:~/dpf-ax/trunk/fw# python fulldump.py /dev/sr1
Opening generic SCSI device '/dev/sr1'
Manufacturer: Apple
Size : 2 MB
Reading 200000 bytes...

Looking for Openwin..............: Found.
Looking for LcdIniTbl............: Found.
Looking for known signatures.....: Found.

Your dpf is compatible with model ['taobao'].

root@gandalf:~/dpf-ax/trunk/fw# python restore.py /root/fw/fw_disp_taobao.bin Found AX206 DPF (bootloader)
Manufacturer: Apple
Size : 2 MB
Flash size mismatch, specify -f to force

Because our firmware is smaller than your flash-chip you always have to use the "-f" parameter.

Hi, digging through the junk pile today I discovered a DPF I bought some time ago but gave up on.
No success with the current firmwares either, so perhaps you would like to add it to your list?

It is marked as Model XG4241 and sold by DSE in Australia (and New Zealand?).

@dkrusko

Please try this fw.
Do you have a manufacturer/seller name and/or a link? If not, this one will stay "acme_3"...

I'm not sure if this fw will work. Looks a lot like the last one from Papa Oscar (which is nor working atm). I'm still waiting for my display from linkdelight to have a closer look.

@markusbrutus

WOW! As identify.py said: This is no "standard" buildwin software!
It has a completely different LdInit-Routine and does NOT use the OTP lcd write routine.
Maybe you found the first truly "not supported" type. ;-)

You can try attached fw but this is only an educated guess.
If this will not work I see no possiblity to support this one in the near future. Sorry.

@superelchi

marcus@xps:~/src/dpf/dpf-ax/trunk/fw$ sudo ./hiddetach && sudo python restore.py ../src/fw_xg4241.bin -f
Detaching dpf at 2-1:1.0... done.
Found AX206 DPF (bootloader)
Manufacturer: Winbond
Size        : 2 MB
Erase full flash...
Flashing sector 0...
Flashing sector 1...
Flashing sector 2...
Flashing sector 3...
Executing applet..

Doesn't work ... backlight on, white background and still says "USB Connect" (pale) even after a reset.
Not to worry, thanks for trying.
