Hi Superelchi,

I bought this pdf, named AC30604-60/6 from Winplus, display:2.4 TFT, 16MB, 320x240.

http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Frame-Screen-Vent-Mount-Function/dp/B006G0CJW0

Here is the identify output:

Detecting & reading dpf flash...

Sorry, no matching dpf found.

But the following model has a partial signature match: dhgate.
This firmware MAY work for your dpf.

Here is the link for the firmware: http://ppl.ug/mf68X1TA1BQ/

Can you help me with this one?

Thank you!

@superelchi

So glad! Your firmware works perfectly!

Backlight adjustment works fine.

There is no reset button on this device.

To enter bootloader mode and flash the new firmware:

- had to unsolder the internal LiPo battery
- plug USB cable while keeping power button pressed

Your dpf is compatible with model ['yallstock_black_portrait_2'].

This dpf was added in January, but I still have to upload it to svn. Shame on me.

Hi, superelchi,
I got your message, you are prompted when I use the firmware you sent me: FLASH models can not match, please re-determined! The firmware and Models supported by dpf-ax you listed in a similar firmware I have tried, there is the same prompt, and then display a red background brush off, and then on the crash, but then pulled out USB reboot will restore it, but I would like to remind that it is important: I have this DPF of flash memory is 8M, and you give the firmware that I have read captions DPF of all listed 16M, is not the cause of this difference is not brush the DPF it, I again sent in the annex some of the pictures that appear to give you tips, you have time to look at and re-sent me to help modify your firmware, thanks again for your help and look forward to the new modified version of the firmware, Thank you!

Flash size does not really matter, because dpf-ax only uses a small part of the flash.
For your flash (a 25Q80) you need a newer FlashLib.ini (attached).
Replace the existing one in the same dir ProgSPI.exe is in and try again.

Hi all,

I have another Macronix device that shows as GEMBIRD:
Bus 002 Device 014: ID 1908:0102 GEMBIRD
But identify.py does not seem to find it:

sudo python identify.py /dev/sg8
Detecting & reading dpf flash...
Opening generic SCSI device '/dev/sg8'
Manufacturer: Macronix
Size : 4 MB
Reading 400000 bytes from flash...
Flash written to file 'fulldump_20140616-001047.bin'.

Looking for firmware.............: Not found.

Sorry, no matching dpf found.

Any chance the same firmware as for @gzqaqa might work here?

Thanks!

As identfy.py said:
This in no known firmware!
Means: not a BuildWin-based firmware or not even an AX206. So dpf-ax will not work with this dpf. Sorry.

Re: dpf-ax: unsupported dpf - requests

Got it, thanks! Will look around for other firmwares.

Interestingly, ax206term (st2205-0.11 modification, I think) says this:

Found AX206 DPF
Error: Failed to claim usb device!
Possibly you have to detach the device from hid.
Use hiddetach from the fw folder: 'sudo fw/hiddetach'
                       or libhid: 'sudo libhid-detach-device 1908:3318'
WARN: failed to connect to picframe
But I was never actually able to compile libhid on this Ubuntu 12.04 box - library seems way outdated, missing dependencies seem to go around in a never ending circle...
Anyway, perhaps ax206term calls ANY DPF an AX206 ( since it's a specialised terminal?) - not sure. Will keep looking, thanks!
Re: dpf-ax: unsupported dpf - requests
June 17, 2014 03:09AM
Hi ElectroNick,

I had time today for a closer look - your dpf is indeed an AX206 AND is based on BuildWin fw.
But: it's not one of the - up to now - known variations of the fw. I made some changes to identify.py an got this:
 $ ./identify.py fulldump_20140616-001047.bin
Looking for firmware.............: Found (coby2, 176x220 px).
Looking for Openwin..............: Found.
Looking for LcdIniTbl............: None.
Looking for backlight & contrast.: Found, Found.
Looking for known signatures.....: None.

Sorry, no matching dpf found.

Much better. :)

Problem is, currently only dpfs with 128x128 and 240x320 px are supported - is this really a 176x220 one?
If so, I have to do some modifications to support this resolution.
But as I do not own one, I have to do everything "blind". Are you willing to test my findings? Be warned: it may take a bunch of tries to get this working and EVEN MAY BREAK YOUR DPF! Not very likely, but possible.

About your problem claiming the usb device - did you run ax206tem as root (sudo)?

Hi superelchi,

I bought a Zipp dp605 from BigW.
The packaging looks exactly the same as the image CaptainCheeks posted last year but the firmware is different.

$ ./identify.py -v fulldump_zipp_dp605_132x132.bin
Looking for firmware.............: Found (buildwin, 132x132 px).
Looking for Openwin..............:
OpenWin at 0x1280 (0x00066a), len 0x3c, CRC = 0x8637633d
Looking for LcdIniTbl............:
Module 36:
LcdInit !NOTBL! (found by call) at 0x142c (0x0488fc), CRC = 0xb12cccad
Module 50:
LcdScheduleTbl at 0x156d (0x049fd9), len 0x00
Invalid LcdIniTbl!
None.
Looking for backlight & contrast.:
Module 36:
LCD_Backlight !NOTBL! at 0x1610 (0x048ae0)
Timer1 custom init found (tmr1per = 0x00ff).
Tmr1con init found at 0x16db (0x048bab), value = 0x43
LCD_Contrast !NOTBL! at 0x167b (0x048b4b)
Looking for known signatures.....:
None.

Sorry, no matching dpf found.

The latest fw_zipp_dp605.bin can control the backlight, but I only get a black screen.
I have a few I don't mind destroying, and the menu+reset bootloader seems to work fine.

Edit: I should note that I'm skeptical about the 132x132.
The packaging says 128x128, and the hardware looks exactly the same as CaptainCheek's image.

Hello,

Could you try to prepare HACK firmware fo my device?
I will be very grateful :)

Detecting & reading dpf flash...
Opening generic SCSI device '/dev/sg2'
Manufacturer: Winbond
Size : 1 MB
Reading 100000 bytes from flash...
Flash written to file 'fulldump_20140719-171650.bin'.

Looking for firmware.............: Found (buildwin, 128x128 px).
Looking for Openwin..............: Found.
Looking for LcdIniTbl............: None.
Looking for backlight & contrast.: Found, Found.
Looking for known signatures.....: None.

Sorry, no matching dpf found.

But the following models have partial signature matches:

abeyerr_black_2 abeyerr_black_3 acme_1 jovisa sunluxy
One of these firmwares MAY work for your dpf

My firmware you can download from: https://www.dropbox.com/s/idrc3ibxqdqikga/ramka_M16_firefox.zip

I tried all suggested firmwares above.
My comment:
abeyerr_black_2 - very little stripes at screen , off function doesn't work
abeyerr_black_3 - probably the best, but off function doesn't work
acme_1 - poor screen quality
jovisa - very BAD, can't see text at screen
sunluxy - almost same like abeyerr_black_3, off function doesn't work

The most important function, which doesn't work is power off funcion (OFF). When I set it, it off for a 1-2s and boot again
Re: dpf-ax: unsupported dpf - requests
July 21, 2014 07:10PM
Hi superelchi,

Thanks, the fw_zipp_dp605_2.zip mostly works, and is certainly good enough for what I want.

I'm fairly sure the display panel is only 128x128, lcd4linux displays everything with the origin at (-2,-2) and the firmware's testscreen image isn't exactly centered.

The backlight control 1-21 works smoothly.

Thanks.
