So I was out and about today and found a Sharper Image branded model that when I took it out of the packaging had a chrome back and V2.0 \o/
From past experience I knew this was probably an Innovage re-branded model.
I got and throw this to hackfw.sh and it seems to almost work but errors out. inovalley looks suspicious like it matched somehow but the grep pattern was malformed.
[parker@x3720 st2205tool]$ sudo ./hackfw.sh /dev/sdb

Ok, first off all, we're going to backup the firmware and memory of your
device to fwimage.bak and memimage.bak. Please save fwimage.bak, you
need it to flash a newer version into your unit.
Found existing fwimage.bak, moving to fwimage.bak.old

Sorry, I couldn't find a matching device profile. If you want to give
creating it yourself a shot, please read ./hack/newhack.txt for more
info.
(Btw: this can also mean your device already has a hacked firmware. If
you want to upgrade your device using this script, please flash back
the fwimage.bak the previous version saved first.)
Firmware backup is successful.
Is this just a case of hackfw.sh needing to be modified or could my model be slightly unsupported?
EDIT: I got it working! The generate_hack.pl was very helpful. Even got lcd4linux going.

Now I just need to figure out why it has the offset on right and bottom. :|.
