@Bodhi, I understand that WD my Cloud Gen 1 is not supported As this is not a Kirkwood device. But could you please suggest what's the best alternative to install debian on this box? Recently my HDD dies on this device and i thought of installing a fresh debian os. Please advice. Thanks for your support to the community. Appreciated Thanks Nirmal

Thanks Bodhi. The Issue resolved by simply opening the box Looks like it accumulated heavy dust/air particles which made the device without any stable connectivity. This is the first time i am opening and i saw a huge amount of dust piled upon the board. Just cleaning with a airfan, the device is back to Normal. Your are right. Pogo V4, it is almost unbrickable : ) Regards Nirmal

Hello Bodhi, I have been using this PogoPlug V4 for more than 8 years and it was working consistently well. I faced a strange issue in which the device green light (LED) is Low/Faded (No Bright green when booting) then after some time it goes to RED color and then after few minutes there is no LIGHT. Hello Bodhi, I see a strange issue with the PogoPlug V4 (Running Debian 5.7) I can see the device on the Network and in the IP Scanner ( 192.168.1.11). But i couldn't SSH to the device. When i checked the device open ports in the IP scanner, i can see only 2 Ports. (rpcbind 111 and nfs 2049) Any insights on this strange thing and i have not see this before.? Regards Nirmal

Thank you Bodhi. I changed the USB and it working well now. Thanks again. Hope the uboot with 2017 - Sep build is enough for me. (Instead of Oct update) Now all my devices are running 2017 version of UBoot. Regards Nirmal

Thanks bodhi. The latest 5.2.9 with fresh usb worked well on Dockstar. Now on the PogoPlug V4 i am getting "EHCI timed out on" which is running uBoot 2017 Sep. I saw searched the forum and i saw you have released patch on Oct 2017 for uboot. But how to boot the debian on this device? Thanks again for your support.

Yes. Unable to reach the box and i don't see the IP address in the IP Scanner after the Starting Kernel message. Anyway, I will try the serial console and troubleshoot what going on..

Thank you Bodhi. I went head and upgraded uBoot. Shall i retain the old Debian or should i need to upgrade Debian also? Its stuck in Starting Kernel.. ok Bodhi, I was able to Boot now using old 4.4.0 Debian and This is the message when i ran the dmesg [ 1.639248] Scanning device for bad blocks [ 1.781270] Bad eraseblock 1290 at 0x00000a140000 Should i upgrade to Latest Uboot ?

Hi Bodhi I am aware of the old UBoot versions. I also created uImage with embedded DTB using dockstar. Should i need to run ramdisk also. I did only the kernel mkimage ? mkimage -A arm -O linux -T ramdisk -C ... btw, The serial console doesn't support interactive commands to type like netconsole? Regards Nirmal

Hi Bodhi, Thanks for the details. While powering down i didn't did a clean shutdown. Just pulled off the power adapter. Morever, i created a new sd card with the old kernel 4.12 but i am still unable to boot. I also configured netconsole on these devices. But forgot the IP which i configured. Let me identify a way to figure out the netconsole server IP and will keep you posted.

After few months i tried connecting the Pogoplug device using a different adapter (12V) and then i tried connecting the ethernet. From then on, the device is not recognized on my network. But now, its not even showing in the IP Scanner when i connect to ethernet. Wondering without sd card booting, can't we see the device in the network IP scanner? Hi All, Can someone suggest a good light weight file manager cli or web utility to run on this PogoPlug V4 Box ? I have lot of files in a 1 TB HDD which was connected to the Pogo. It's really hard to search the files quickly. Looking for some utility which can index the filename in the background and provide a cli or web interface to quickly search them. Regards Nirmal

I was using Debian for couple of years. Due to a power surge it crashed. Now i thought of installing arch linux in a new USB on my Pogoplug V4.
