Will this work: http://jeff.doozan.com/debian/uboot/ QuoteOld: Restore old uBoot on mtd0 This section is for reference only. You should not run this unless you have a very good reason. If, for some reason, you want to revert back to the original bootloader, you can use the following instructions to restore the original bootloader: # Restore original uBoot wget http://jeff.doozanby jimmyoo0 - Debian
I have a goflex net running debian, this was installed using Jeff's script and I have net console configured. Does anyone know how i can restore this to factory settings, i am wanting to give this to a family member to use with the standard segate software as i no longer need it.by jimmyoo0 - Debian
Has any progress been made on this?by jimmyoo0 - Debian
I have 2 3.5" drives attached to SATA and neither power up without an externa power supply. I have just modified an ATX supply to be always on using the bench power supply tutorals from google. I find this works well.by jimmyoo0 - Debian
Thanks varkey, SATA boot is working great and well done on the kernel too. many thanks.by jimmyoo0 - Debian
sorry for being a bit thick but, how do i change these things? is this imputed into a config file or just typed straight into command line? or someting else?by jimmyoo0 - Debian
So what is the best way to set up SATA boot, is it to directly copy your uboot_env into my uboot_env file or is there some commands that can do this easier. Also what from your uboot_env is specific to your hard drive and partition and may need to be changed for my setup?by jimmyoo0 - Debian
My goflex has a yellow/orange flashing light if it fails to boot e.g. if the usb drive is not pluged in, so it may be that your install only installed the new boot loader but not debian to the usb drive. all you would need to fix that is to install debian onto the usb drive and it should be all good, that is if that is the problem probbaly worth a 2nd oppinion tho, i could be wrongby jimmyoo0 - Debian
When do you think there will be support for the GoflexNet's arcNumber in the mainline kirkwood kernel? what is invloved in before this happens? Dose anyone have any insight into this? It would make life a lot easier for potential GoflexNet users as Dockstars are getting harder to get hold of.by jimmyoo0 - Debian
Sorry for not following up sooner, what i did is i downloaded boot and modules form here http://jeff.doozan.com/debian/goflex/v0.6/v2.6.37/ These are the kernels made by plugapps.com that have support for the Goflex Net ArcNumber. Copy and replace the boot and modules on your flash drive and it will boot. One thing to note there is stuff you want to keep in your existing modules file so donby jimmyoo0 - Debian
Do you know how to achive option 2 ? (put a custom kernel on your usb stick from another linux box) i am struggling to find any info or howto's on this. Yes the blinking orrang LED is bad, it means it is not booting anything, atleast if it was booting pogoplug then i could change the arcNumber back and be all fixed.by jimmyoo0 - Debian
When i try and boot without the the pen drive containing debian pluged in it should chain load in to the Pogoplug linux environment, but it is not, all it is doing is coming up with the flashing green led then it starts flashing orrange and dosent boot, and im a bit stuck at the moment as i dont have a serial cable or netconsole set up.by jimmyoo0 - Debian
First off a big thanks to Jeff and all the others who have put so much time and effort into this i am very appreciative. Now for my problem, I have followed the instructions and run the script on "http://jeff.doozan.com/debian/" this went well and installed ok. I then changed the arcNumber to the Goflex Net "fw_setenv arcNumber 3089" Then restarted When it restarts theby jimmyoo0 - Debian
