I just ran across this forum while attempting to follow the instructions at https://github.com/gisab/WDMC-Ex2. My problem, which I posted an issue for on the same site, is I can't install from USB. My issue is that u-boot needs to be at least version 2012.10 or later. My Ex2 has version 2011.12. I see WD has released a number of firmware updates, which I have never installed.
