sounds like you didn't restart samba service. Anyway just restart you device and PC and check if it works. In order to restart Samba you need to run the following command for systemd systemctl smbd restart for initd service samba restartby Almaz - Debian

I'd like to try SMB2 / SMB3 between pogoplug and windows 8.1 but so far I can't get it to work. Windows 8.1 reports connection as SMB1. Here is my smb.conf. If your PogoPlug is working properly right now then it has no reason not to work with a switch. The switch you got only adds additional ports and that's it. On the other hand if you still have available RJ45 ethernet ports in your router then you have no reason to use the switch.by Almaz - Off-Topic

I don't use them personally but all it takes to setup each one of them just 5 minutes. Make sure to setup your server properly with caching otherwise it'll tun very slow. Use Tuxlite LNMP script to setup your server. Use Git option to install it and enable swap memory before running the script. http://tuxlite.com/installation/by Almaz - Off-Topic

ohhh I already installed Plex but I've decided not to use it anymore because web interface won't work without transcoding but Plex Home Theather doesn't support mouse properly.by Almaz - Debian

Unfortunately minidlna doesn't work over internet. VPN is not an option. All I want to do just stream the videos from pogoplug without transcoding because my home ISP allows 120mb/20mb speed.by Almaz - Debian

I installed the latest Plex Media Server with Bodhi's rootfs on pogoplug and poor pogoplug can't play most of the videos. Unfortunately Plex is not really suitable for this device.by Almaz - Debian

I'd like to watch my videos remotely and I don't need any transcoding. I've used Plex before and really liked it but so far it's available in Arch but not in Debian. Is it possible to install Plex or what alternatives would you suggest for PogoPlug e02?by Almaz - Debian

The package is here https://packages.debian.org/wheezy-backports/ampache which can be easily installed by running a simple command apt-get install ampache. Tips: If you are going to install MySQL then install it separately and make sure to enable swap files. If it freezes during install then just reboot and it'll complete the instlall. I only use ssh to pogoplug but sometimes I'm lazy and use rootfs as a shared folder in windows. In regards to DNS you can install dnsmasq and setup as dns or adblock for your entire household. I never get a single ad in my browser.by Almaz - Off-Topic

I enjoy my PogoPlug as well but if I had to buy another one then it would be Odroid C1 or Banana PI / PI PRO which includes SATA port. I'm using my Pogoplug E02 for: SickRage CouchPotato Mysql / Nginx / PHP OpenVPN dnsmasq (you can block all internet ads for your entire household) reaver fake free xfinitywifi ( just for fun so people can login and enter their credentials) FTP seby Almaz - Off-Topic

there is no fix or patch if you have that option on or off for ext2. fsck will not fix anything most of the time if you power off your system running OS on ext2. You have only 2 options: install UPS or switch to ext3.by Almaz - Debian

Kernel does have tun.ko module. I just noticed one of my pogoplugs with OpenVPN already have preloaded tun module. Another Pogoplug without OpenVPN (not using any vpn) tun module is not preloaded. Anyhow, the module can be loaded manually just run the following command modprobe tunby Almaz - Debian

Without snat or proper routing it will NOT work in any debian or any other linux distros. That's how network works in linux & windows. It doens't matter if you use bridging method or routing method but somehow packets must know where to go. There is nothing wrong with Kernel or Bodhi rootfs. You never even showed what type of NAT routing you have in other debian boxes and I'by Almaz - Debian

Had spare 15 minutes and setup N2N in 2 locations just to check if it works, and it works fine. Confirmed N2N with Bodhi rootfs works great.by Almaz - Debian

I don't know the exact setup you have but it looks like you still didn't setup your network properly. eth0 is your wan network and doesn't know tap or tun0 even exist. The traffic you are trying to send via tap/tun doesn't know where to go. Setup bridge for now, here is an example. Like I said before your network isn't setup properly. Using VM is not the same as using a stand alone box. Setup routes, network bridge and iptables properly. Just want to let you know I have pogoplug setup with OpenVPN with Tun & TAP and both servers work fine. The error is definitely on your end. Double check your iptables rules.by Almaz - Debian
