Hi We have recently short power outages (usually less than 2 seconds) but it is enough that my Pogoplug E02 shuts down. Is there an easy / cheap solution to bridge these short power failures? I have a UPS (I want to use it for my NAS and external drives) lying around, but I would prefer something more lightweight? Rainerby rkrug - Off-Topic
This sounds very useful! Looking forward to it as I have two Pogoplug (non-stock firmware) which I would like to upgrade. One suggestion: could this script be extended to also install the Rescue system upon request? I think this would be a nice addition. Rainerby rkrug - Off-Topic

@JoeyPogoPlugE02 I think you did good in posting it - it is a great idea *as* it is very low tech and very useful (especially in summer times...). Thanks Rainerby rkrug - Off-Topic

I know - but wouldn't it be easier to have all in one place? Also: These are not only Debian HOWTOs - also hardware hacking and others which would be possibly better in their own forum? Rainerby rkrug - Off-Topic
Hi There is an awesome number of HOWTOs coming up at the moment. They are a brilliant resource and very well written. To make these more accessible: would it be possible to create a new forum (HOWTO might be an easy name) in which only HOWTOs and their discussions are placed? I am not refering to the threads of installing uboot and debian (they should definitely rest in their fora), but e.g. tby rkrug - Off-Topic
May I suggest to put these together in a script, which reports the times and the samba configuration (and other stuff which might be of interest)? A standardized output would make the collection of the data much easier. Rainerby rkrug - Debian
@Gravelrash Sorry - maybe later. I'll leave it as it is at the moment. Cheers, Rainerby rkrug - Debian
@ mxhdrm I assume you dis this on wheezy? There it works perfectly. But not on Jessie? I tried it (with the arm as well as the all deb of 7.9 nightly - by the way running nicely and stable on Wheezy) but I get the perl errors (see http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,28677 for details). For the moment I am giving up and stay with Wheezy. Cheers, Rainerby rkrug - Debian
Done. Now I get: root@lms:~# dpkg --install logitechmediaserver_7.9.0~1466175427_all.deb Selecting previously unselected package logitechmediaserver. Hi I followed up on the installation of LMS (logitech media server) on Jessie and found something curios. Everything is done on a pogoplug E02 running Wheezy. 1) Installed a I brand new rootfs installation on a new USB stick 2) chroot into it 3) installed logitechmediaserver_7.9.0~1466175427_arm.deb and got the following output: root@lms:~# dpkg --install logitechmediaserver_7.9.by rkrug - Debian
So why don't you use Wheezy? If you are using the pogoplug simply for LMS?by rkrug - Debian
Hi I just got around of posting some Howtos on my blog. One is really long as it documents a setup of a Pogoplug E02 for LMS (LogitechMusicServer), TimeMachine, file server, ... The other is about a quick way of using a Pogoplug Eo2 as an ftp server running proftp. You can see them here: https://rmkrug.wordpress.com/ Hope they are helpful, Rainerby rkrug - Debian
Please see my new Howto at http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,28584 and leave comments Thanks, Rainerby rkrug - Debian
Following the recent Howtos, here is another one: Install LMS I did this on Wheezy and it worked. Download LMS either from http://www.mysqueezebox.com/download or, I would recommend, version 7.9 nightly from http://downloads.slimdevices.com/nightly/?ver=7.9. Despite not bring released, 7.9 is really stable. Download the LMS installation file and install it. # wget THE_LINK_TO_THEby rkrug - Debian
OK - thanks. I have seen a HOWTO to setup a chroot environment here. Thanks, Rainerby rkrug - Debian
Hi I want to setup a rootfs and use it for remote booting a pogoplug. I have to install a few additional packages and would like to know if I can do this on my Linux PC via chroot, which would be an advantage (speed being one) or do I have to do it the old fashioned way on the pogoplug? Thanks, Rainerby rkrug - Debian
This looks *very* useful - should have had this a few months ago... You should possibly mention the no_root_squash option - it bit me today (for a few hours - repeatedly!). The default is that root on the client can *not* write to an NFS share. But in certain cases (e.g. backup of rootfs to NFS share) this is necessary, so the option no_root_squash *enables* write access for rott on a NFS sby rkrug - Debian
Thanks for the thumbs up. I will see if I can move some data around and possibly resize partition 2 so that I can put the rootfs in partition 1, but at the moment I am happy as I am simply trying OpenMediaVault on the GoFlex Net. Thanks, Rainerby rkrug - uBoot
I just realized, that the partition 1 is not a data partition, but an EFI partition which is only used by OS X. As this hdd is not used for booting on OS X, so I reformated partition one and named it boot copied the /boot folder from the rootfs into the partition rebooted on GoFlex and it is working. It took some time to boot, but it is working. I was thinking of marking boot as theby rkrug - uBoot
Nope - unfortunately not. But I could do it with gparted - only I have no backup...by rkrug - uBoot
OK - so the problem is, that rootfs is in partition 5 and not 1?by rkrug - uBoot
Hi I installed the new uboot on my GoFlex net and would like to boot from a USB hdd which is GPT and not MBR formated. In addition, the rootfs labeled partition is partition 5. How can I boot from this rootfs? I read somewhere here about booting from UEFI, but I can't find it anymore? Just booting the GoFlex does not work. Any suggestions? Thanks, Rainerby rkrug - uBoot
I hoped I could avoid this - but it doesn't look like it?by rkrug - Off-Topic
Hi I really love this forum, but I moiss one thing (or I haven't found it yet?): Can I tag threads and posts as favourites or similar, to create a collet=ction for posts relevant to me? If not, how do others handle this? Rainerby rkrug - Off-Topic
Thanks - worked perfectly. No idea why it didn't work the first time. Thanks, Rainerby rkrug - Debian
