Thanks - will do so. Should have checked there before asking... Rainerby rkrug - uBoot
Hi I want to install Wheezy instead of Lennie and have the newest uBoot. Do I have to create uImage with embbeded DTB as in step 4) even though I have the newest uBoot? Thanks, Rainerby rkrug - Debian
Is it possible to boot a Pogoplug E02 using netboot? I would like to keep the rootfs on a network drive as it would playing with it much easier. Is this possible? Thanks, Rainerby rkrug - uBoot

You lucky bastards in the US - here they are 70 Euro upwards. And Amazon has the record: https://www.amazon.fr/Lexar-High-Performance-microSDXC-Reader-Memory/dp/B01871RQEQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1460033870&sr=8-1&keywords=Lexar+128GB+Class+10+633x+microSDXC for 205 Euro. Speedwise, this seems to be an alternative.by rkrug - Off-Topic

Hi I just saw some really in-expensive (cheap?) external SSD, e.g http://www.amazon.de/Verbatim-externe-SSD-Festplatte-128GB-schwarz/dp/B008OE0S56/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1460014480&sr=8-3&keywords=ssd+external+128GB or even http://www.amazon.de/SK-hynix-HFS512G32MNB-3312A-Solid-State-Laufwerk-Canvas/dp/B010LZL3YK/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1460014480&sr=8-5&keywordby rkrug - Off-Topic
@bodhi: I reinstalled the rootfs on an old flash drive and it is working now. You are right: I included the DTB in the uImage before. I used the fs as it came and it is booting now. @Joerg: I saw that as well, but after flashing the default env it was OK - which I only could do after I fixed the error Bodhi mentioned. One remark why I likely had the troubles: The SSD I used. It seems to havby rkrug - uBoot
Sorry - I am confused. If I check the arguments in uBoot using "env print" I get the following: GoFlexNet> env print arcNumber=2097 bootcmd=run bootcmd_uenv; run scan_disk; run set_bootargs; run bootcmd_exec bootcmd_exec=mw 0x800000 0 1; run load_uimage; if run load_initrd; then if run load_dtb; then bootm 0x800000 0x1100000 0x1c00000; else bootm 0x800000 0x1100000; fi; eby rkrug - uBoot
Yes - I had some problems there and was not sure if it worked. How can I flash the new bootargs? Do I have to set up a rootfs on one drive with ony one partition? Or can I do this from the uBoot prompt?by rkrug - uBoot
I always forget the one step where I have to make the uImage. Shame onm me. I have redone everything, and now I get the following, which is obviously in the Debian installation - so uBoot is working: I have partitioned the disk using three partitions, 1: LABEL= rootfs ext3 2: swap 3 LABEL=data ext4 U-Boot 2015.10-tld-1 (Nov 06 2015 - 15:49:48 -0800) Seagate GoFlex Net SoC:by rkrug - uBoot
Oh: the uEnv.txt is from http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?3,12381 and I only changed the dtb_file: dtb_file=/boot/dts/kirkwood-goflexnet.dtbby rkrug - uBoot
OK - updated uBoot, rebooted and attached an ssd with partition 4 active and labeled rootfs. Serial console gives me: U-Boot 2015.10-tld-1 (Nov 06 2015 - 15:49:48 -0800) Seagate GoFlex Net SoC: Kirkwood 88F6281_A1 DRAM: 128 MiB (ECC not enabled) WARNING: Caches not enabled NAND: 256 MiB In: serial Out: serial Err: serial Net: egiga0 88E1116 Initialized on egiga0by rkrug - uBoot
So it is just to remember the ip? OK. I can do that. Thanks - I will than go with your uBoot. Rainerby rkrug - uBoot
I did not get that far. at point 2) it says to check QuoteMake sure ethaddr is set in uBoot env. but I tried fw_printenv and I got the following error message: -bash-4.3# ./fw_printenv ./fw_printenv: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.7' not found (required by ./fw_printenv) -bash-4.3# I did not dare go further after this. So why didn't they in my case? Is there anything wrong with extracting them to /tmp ?by rkrug - uBoot
I unzipped the tools into /tmp/tools and tried to run them from there. I'll try the rootfs approach later. Do I have to cheroot into the rootfs for that?by rkrug - uBoot
Hi I just bought a brand new GoFlex net and would like to install uBoot, rescue system and Debian. First step: uBoot. Ill follow to install uBoot. SSH is enabled and working - good. 1) I can write in the /tmp folder - and downloaded and extracted there the bin tools - done. 2) I don't have a /etc/fw_env.config and I can't create it as it is Read-only. stuck very early.by rkrug - uBoot
OK - I have a GoFlex Net standing newxt to me and will see to it later. Thanks, Rainerby rkrug - Off-Topic
Thanks for the detailed info - very useful. I have two hdd and one flash drive in the pogoplug, all USB. They have as bus info bus info: usb@1:1.3[\code]. Am I right in assuming that they are on one controller? Thanks bodhi - helped me as well. Rainerby rkrug - Debian
Hi I would like to make disk access on an E02 faster than using a single flash drive / usb hdd by combining two usb hdd or flash drives as a RAID 0 ( I know that I double my chances of data corruption, but redundancy is not that relevant here, I make daily backups and the files do not change that much - Logitech Media server for music - and access speed is more the issue). It is actually 20 euro at amazon.fr :by rkrug - Off-Topic
No - France. The GoFLEX Home seem to be a) rather expensive here and b) only take one hdd. This one also looks useful. I'll wait till I have my GoFlex net in my hands and take it from there. I'll report back what I decided to do. Thanks.by rkrug - Off-Topic
@LeggoMyEggo : I like the second housing - looks very nice. @bobafetthotmail : could you elaborate why? Do they put to much pressure on the CPU? I can't imagine that it will be much more than the same number of USB hdd? @bodhi : good to know - thanks.by rkrug - Off-Topic
@LeggoMyEggo: Thanks - very useful information. I'll see which way I'll go - exernal eSATA housing sounds tempting due to the included power supply. If I interpret the picture correctly, an old PC housing is used for the housing and power supply of the hdds - correct? Interesting idea, especially if I can use a multiplier on the SATA ports to connect more than one drive on one port? Depby rkrug - Off-Topic
Hi I just ordered a GoFlex Net for 20 Euro from Amazon.fr - not bad as far as I can see. But I have a question: has anybody experiences with connecting 3.5 hdd to the GoFlex net? AS far as I know, I can use a simple sata cable from the bay to the hdd, but I need a power supply for the hdd. Any suggestions for this? Or is there a better way of connecting two 3.5 hdd to the GoFlex net (obby rkrug - Off-Topic
My first step would be, to look at the messages you get, which you can get via "dmesg" when it does not connect. But I guess, if the Pogo is not connected, you can't do this as you can't access it? If you can (via ethernet), dmesg should give you an idea what is going on. I had a similar question but did not get an answer, but look at http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,2607by rkrug - Debian
