I'm trying to make Kernel 4.5 ready for this device. When building the "r8168" driver, the following has to be change, otherwhise, the driver won't compile: The function "NETIF_F_ALL_CSUM" was renamed to "NETIF_F_CSUM_MASK" -> src/r8168_n.c:4212 ATM no NSA310 is here to test but according to this it's only a rename.by pengu - Debian
yeah this DTB is more "complete" All except "ide-disk" is patched and no "sensors" with the new one. So I'm using "your one" again.by pengu - Debian
yes, atm it's only the "ide-disk" stuff which should be modified. As you (perhaps) guess, the "new" NSA325 DTB is missing some parts (buttuns, MTD layout) The rest seems generic so it could be patched.by pengu - Debian
thanks for the reply bodhi, >Nope. I think using my old NSA325 DTB is better. Already built it and I'm testing it. I haven't compared it I'll see later with the other patches around. >Also, ide-disk1/ide-disk2 will not work correctly without the patch. Shure but I can't apply the whole stuff because something has changed in the code to be patchedby pengu - Debian
kernel 4.5 is out. It includes the NSA325 dtb so this device is booting up without further kernel modifications. Now I'm trying to use the working parts of the kernel 4.4 patch. I think all except the "ide-disk" stuff should be working.by pengu - Debian
tvheadend is working as expected (when running as root) but the packaged version is running as tvh:video. the config isn't created properly, as quick and dirty solution I copied the previous config (created with tvheadend running as root) over and changed owner:group. perhaps this has changed in this version.by pengu - Debian
cryptodev isn't (yet) installed. it doesn't seems to work with my (4.4.1) kernel (NSA325v2) Edit: the built binaries (make check) still make trouble .by pengu - Debian
thanks bodhi it's working(again) with the new kernel.by pengu - Debian
cryptodev 1.8 is building successfully against linux.4.4 but make check is still failing http://pastebin.com/MBBjyLYk <- seen via ssh http://pastebin.com/r47xKdnU <- kernel log I'm using marvell_cesa as chrishelms mentioned perhaps I'm using the wrong device .. let's see the result on other kirkwood devices Edit tested devices: - ZyXEL NSA325v2by pengu - Debian
that's an option. Perhaps I have missed something thats needed on this device.by pengu - Debian

yes bodhi, I also think that a new U-Boot is a better solution. In stock U-Boot it isn't possible to run newer Linux kernels because they only get loaded but not started. On both boxes (the first one isn't avaible anymore) a newer U-Boot (2012) is running to get get newer kernels started. Perhaps it's something wrong with that. Because of heat and stress in summer this year I dby pengu - Debian
Thanks bodhi perhaps I've missed that. I'm using this DTS allready and I'll try this U-Boot later. Hopefully this changes the HDD thing, otherwise there is something wrong with the used kernels but all of them based on your config and no (more) problems (kernel 4.3.x) on all other devices As I see now, it was the same with my first dns325, I didn't noticed thatby pengu - Debian

I'm trying to reproduce this on the second dns325 but it doesn't boot. I'm using the same U-Boot configuration as on the first one but the uImage / uInitrd only gets loaded but not started. In the last view weeks, I'm still working on this device and I see some issues when using newer kernels then 4.2.0. Only one drive is recognized. I'm using a stripped down config based on this one here available so this couldn't be the point. The second drive is coming up later when the system is booting so perhaps the second HDD has to be powerd by the system and it isn'by pengu - Debian
Because of some issues raised on Kernel 4.2.x, I tried the next stable 4.3.x kernel. They are gone completely and also the boot deley when loading dhe NAND driver at boot. You still see some error messages while accessing the NAND and it's still not possible to read/write uEnv variables. Perhaps this could be solved.by pengu - Debian
The mentioned HDD is now available, so let's see. On both mentioned devices (ix2-200 and DNS-325) .. also on other (Netgear Stora) I see some flash timing problems. Pehaps this could be the same here? some wrong timings in the DTB? One thing that makes me beleve that there could be something wrong in the DTB is that on all ZyXEL devices I don't see anything like this. Iby pengu - Debian
I'm using Tvheadend since more than one yeer first the trunk releases .. and now the 4.0.9 version. Perhaps someone can fix this? For testing it can be downloaded Tvheadend 4.0.9 or: Tvheadend 4.1 trunk. it can be installed with the following commands: apt-get update && apt-get upgrade dpkg -i tvheadend_4.0.9_armel.deb apt-get install dvb-apps apt-get -f install yby pengu - Debian
yeah I still have this kernel installed, I only need to rename the uImage / uInitrd. but atm .. the 4.3.1 is building .. let's see when it's finished I'll try your and my first one (4.2.1) perhaps something is gone wrong ... what I can say .. regarding my first kernel (4.2.1) it's working on all my boxes .. the only thing is the second one but as I know, it'sby pengu - Debian

sorry for the late response Yes it's not a Debian or ARM issue. Perhaps php-fusion hast outdated code or something like that. I haven't heared anything from the person who has this issue first.by pengu - Debian
I see that someone has similar problems with kernel 4.2.1 when using nfs + rsync (two ext4 formatted disk, raid 0). did someone has a similar setup? I can't reproduce this because I have to (again) backup my HDDs. After that I can perhaps check if this is the cause on my NSA325v2 Perhaps NFS is faster then SAMBA?by pengu - Debian
thanks for the reply. it's working for phpmyadmin and wordpress. php-fusion is a kind of old It's working using firefox but chrome and IE doesn't It isn't ngix or php related, with apache, same thing.by pengu - Debian
sorry for the long delay I'll see whats going on switching to sysvinit perhaps this helps but as I found out earlier, its the same in wheezy. The only difference is that the LED goes off So I thought that it was completely offby pengu - Debian
kernel 4.4-rc1 is out .. let's see ;-) Edit seems that the error message poset above is still present. Edit 2 forgot that this was the old driver .. with ne new one, this message is gone. shivahoj keep trying, I've noticed such behaviour on other kirkwood devices. At some point it will succeed. could it be that on one NSA320, the RX has no contact? I think U-Boot is up and running, otherwhise only the Power LED lights upby pengu - Debian
