I should add... I'm not looking to use this as real "desktop" display.. just for informational-type screensaver display use.by craigcoffman - Displays
Has anyone located such a device? I've come into a couple of automobile color LCD screens that would be perfect for use as a monitor for my pogoplugs &/or dockstar. They are 7" & do standard NTSC or Pal only (480x234 px) has RCA inputs. I'm also wondering if it would be possible to use a USB to VGA display adapter & then convert from the 15-pin VGA to RCA &by craigcoffman - Displays
Bohdi: the 3.18 worked like a charm Thanks. Would've started with the newer tar-fs if I could found it earlier. Thanks for your help.by craigcoffman - Debian
Is there a simple list of download links someplace that I'm missing? I can't seem to find a link to 3.18 fs tar file you mention. Not to be dense, but I'm struggling to find such a list.. just tinyURLS to dropbox buried in various threads.by craigcoffman - Debian

I'm leaning towards flashing your latest uboot. Ahh.. just stumbled across the pointer on migrating from Arch to Debian which points me to this thread: http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?3,23727 So I need to update uboot basically, correct. An I assume all my questions are answered here if I just start reading & digging?by craigcoffman - Debian
Hey all, wondering if someone can point me in the right direction here: I've got an old seagate dockstar I converted to run ARCH linux years ago. I boot from various USB devices hooked to the 1st USB port (the one that was supposed to be for th dock on top). It boots the most recent version of ARCH downloaded from archlinuxarm.org, no issues, right out of the box. BUT, I'd realby craigcoffman - Debian
Still a work in progress. http://www.vintage-art-and-posters.com/IR-Pogo/by craigcoffman - Debian
Sure, but there's really not much to *look* at though... just the stereo mini din's cables coming out of the Iguana USB device & the soldered on IR emitters (pulls from old remotes mostly). A diagram might be more appropriate & that would be just for the very basic wiring (see #3 below). The only real "tricks" to doing this is: 1. recording & cleaning upby craigcoffman - Debian
It's pretty straightforward. here's the magic bit: http://www.iguanaworks.net/ << the IR transmitter & some info to get you started: You definitely have to have a LIRC-capable machine with some sort of IR receiver on it as well to "record" the various IR codes you want to send. Ahh.. that makes more sense. Must've not pasted the command in correctly or something when I did it. After doing it a few times, it's easy to get careless I guess. Glad it was nothing to hard to fix. Scrolling back thru my history, I see you are correct, looks like somehow (even though I did cut n pastes to avoid typos) somehow it was converted to ?hex? machid=0x831by craigcoffman - Debian
Good call. Should've thought of that. Same behavoir. I suspect it is in the uboot enviroment parameters. I should have stated that I failed to issue these two commands in sequence at the begining: /tmp/fw_setenv arcNumber 3960 /tmp/fw_setenv machid F78 I had issued the latter, but not the former apparently. set the arcNumber parameter after the fact. So the two parameters wby craigcoffman - Debian
I've isntalled uboot & Debian on 4 of the Pogoplug V4 mobiles. Everthing went without a hitch on the 1st 3, & on the last, I encountered on very small issue. After booting (from the sd card) sucessfully, the front LED(s) never switch to solid green, the red stays on (giving orange). Inspection of the /sys/class/leds information shows that the red-led's trigger file is setby craigcoffman - Debian
