This M300 is pretty picky on usb flash drives. I have some Kingston / Lexar / xxx brand flash drives which worked fine on Dockstar / Pogo E02 / etc, but those won't work on the M300. Only two 4GB sandisk flash drives worked.by daviddyer - Debian
Looks like u-boot is good. Make an USB root file system and try to boot it.by daviddyer - uBoot
For your reference https://extremepogoplug.wordpress.com/2012/11/17/pogoplug-v4-disassembly-and-attaching-serial-cable/by daviddyer - uBoot
Also, your pogoplug might have different IP addresses during the u-boot period and debian / linux period. If you got a steady green led at last, maybe it booted successfully.by daviddyer - uBoot
Well, in my experience, flash drive is not so good after 1 -2 years as system drive. I once saw my dockstar had some errors (Kingston 1gb, after about 1 year) in dmesg, so I shut it down and FSCKed it on another system, then it could not boot again. :P Formatted the flash drive and re-made the system, it worked again. After that, I just use hard drive or NFS as the root file system.by daviddyer - uBoot
If you have raspberry pi, you can use raspbian / minicom or picocom and connect rpi's serial port to your device's serial port to make nsa325 great again.by daviddyer - uBoot
Found it. https://forum.doozan.com/read.php?3,43214,80924#msg-80924 About the same. ~500 range. But kirkwood boxes can easily reach ~800 or more. For samba, I just copied the GoflexHome's smb.conf.by daviddyer - Debian
Now 4GB version available in MicroCenter!by daviddyer - Off-Topic
Mirabox sucks... Tried one cheap HP SSD with USB3 enclosure, DD speed about 140MB/s read, 50MB/s write (maybe the enclosure sucks, too), tried samba, only about 25MB/s read, 10MB/s write. iperf is about 400-500Mbit/s.. Even worse than the GoflexHome... Will just put it aside and stick to my good old GoflexHome.by daviddyer - Debian
1GB version was available in micro center a few days ago. 2/4 GB will be available on 06/28.by daviddyer - Off-Topic
Any instructions to install openwrt as rescue system?by daviddyer - Debian
Well, sysupgrade can do the mtd format / etc when needed, but it is always a good idea to format the new mtd when the mtd is changed / created.by daviddyer - Rescue System
@chessplayer A Maybe you need to add "nand erase.part ubi" in 3 or 4. B It's not necessary to do "echo '/dev/mtd0 0xc0000 0x20000 0x20000' > /etc/fw_env.config" in step 5 since it won't be saved to NAND. It is necessary to do "echo '/dev/mtd0 0xc0000 0x20000 0x20000' > /etc/fw_env.config" in step 7 after openwrt is flasheby daviddyer - Rescue System
Finally used a nasty method and solved it. Download the upgrade file to my http server, then we don't need opkg install those things. Just download from the http server (not https server), run upgrade, yeah! After that, just do the opkg update and install. :-)by daviddyer - Rescue System
Just found a typo in echo '/dev/mtd0 0xc0000 0x20000 0x20000' > /etc/fw_envs.config should be echo '/dev/mtd0 0xc0000 0x20000 0x20000' > /etc/fw_env.configby daviddyer - Rescue System
Tried to install on a dockstar, used tftp boot, openwrt_dockstar_uImage is https://downloads.openwrt.org/releases/18.06.2/targets/kirkwood/generic/openwrt-18.06.2-kirkwood-seagate_dockstar-initramfs-uImage Dockstar>tftp 0x800000 openwrt_dockstar_uImage Dockstar>bootm 0x800000 root login to openwrt ok, tried to install the packages to the initial file system, openwrt compby daviddyer - Rescue System
I have a 512MB flash dockstar.by daviddyer - Debian
This is NOT kirkwood... Use Debian-4.12.4-mvebu-tld-1-rootfs-bodhi.tar.bz2by daviddyer - Debian
Well, if you have good uboot, it is never bricked... Bricked means you have to go through kwboot or jtag (or sata boot for some devices) to fix it... which happened to me long long ago when I just got a serial cable....oh... with the serial cable, I was the king... I could do whatever...wait, why there was no led activity when I powered on my dockstar?..by daviddyer - uBoot
First things first, do you have ssh access to your box? If not, we need to use serial port or feed the goflex home something to get ssh access. As far as I know, updated goflexhome won't give you root shell on serial port, nor the leaked password will work.by daviddyer - Debian
If your Debian root file system / swap is on sata drive, then sata drive is accessed often and it won't be able to power down. Change them to a small USB drive and then you can feel hdparm working on sata.by daviddyer - Debian
Maybe we should put this in the uboot env img... Dockstar / pogoe02 /etc --- no RTC, goflex home / net --- battery problem... this will help.by daviddyer - Off-Topic
Bodhi's kirkwood uboot has snpt, so no worries... software solved the battery problem... https://forum.doozan.com/read.php?3,16003by daviddyer - Off-Topic
Duracell AA / AAA batteries are guaranteed to leak these years...by daviddyer - Off-Topic
To be frank, some of the batteries from overseas are just trash.... Waste time / money / effort... I ordered 5 cr1616 for my car key, none of them worked. Later got a good one from frys at about $2.by daviddyer - Off-Topic
I will open mine later if I have time.by daviddyer - Off-Topic
The battery is AG13. It is easy to read from internet pictures. We do not know if there is one or two AG13s. AG13 is 1.5v. GUESS we need 2 . If it is 2, then it can be replaced by one CR2032. We just need some space and wires for the huge CR2032.by daviddyer - Off-Topic
It's his USB drive's LED, not dockstar's LED. His USB drive was the RFS, it is accessed often and it will flash often. Another reason not to use USB flash drive as RFS for long term.by daviddyer - Debian
The m300 is about $15 after coupon on eBay today. If I can make use of the 2gb memory, I will get one....by daviddyer - Debian
