I have this USB wireless dongle - Airlink101 AWLL6075 and lsusb shows this QuoteBus 001 Device 005: ID 0bda:8172 Realtek Semiconductor Corp. RTL8191S WLAN Adapter I have compiled a kernel with the drivers for the device and dmesg shows this when I attach the device, so it seems the driver is loaded fine. Just make the rootfs partition to ext3. I have frequent power cuts as well and my dockstar boots perfectly after a power failure. I haven't done a manual fsck for months.by varkey - Debian
I recently ordered this adapter (yet to be delivered) -- http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350466560323 It says it works with both 5v and 3.3v target devices, so it should work fine with the Dockstar and GoFlex right? :)by varkey - Debian
^ Jeff's uBoot seems to have a bug. If I connect the hard disk to the right side port and try 'ide reset' it shows both ports populated with the same hard disk. ( You can see that from my boot log ) Now if I connect it to the left port, it shows no devices at all.. Further I remember seeing a post by peaslaker in plugapps.com forum acknowledging the bug and he seems to have corrby varkey - Debian
The steps involved to setup SATA boot are 1. Install my Kernel which is posted above. 2. Connect the hard disk to *right* side port, this is very important. The left side port doesn't work, seems to be a bug in Jeff's uBoot 3. Setup the uBoot environment using fw_printenv, these are the commands I used. fw_setenv sata_boot 'ide reset; mw 0x800000 0 1; ext2load ide 0:1 0x8by varkey - Debian
Finally tested it and *success* and SATA boot works just fine. I have attached my dmesg, netconsole log, and uboot env settings.by varkey - Debian

^ Thanks. But do you think I can power a 3.5" drive using that? I know the connectors match but is the GoFlex Power Supply capable of driving a bigger drive? A 2.5" bare drive can be directly inserted without the need for any cables, that is I how got the above posted output in the dmesg, but no *spare* 2.5" hard disk to play around with yet.by varkey - Debian
^ The uBoot modifications cannot be incorporated in the Kernel itself AFAIK. Anyway I'm not even sure if this kernel will boot from SATA even if the right uboot parameters are given. Although the necessary modules etc are included. The SATA ports work once you have booted debian, I tested it with a bare laptop hard disk, and this is what I got in dmesg. Quote [179758.471050] ata1:by varkey - Debian
^ To boot from the SATA connectors, you will need to modify the uboot parameters. Although I haven't tested it yet cause I don't have a GoFlex hard disk. And the leds are disabled by default, you need to enable them. Check the /sys/class/leds/ directory and you will find the available LED controls. And it can be enabled as described in this post -- http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2by varkey - Debian
^ No, it installs to a flash drive itself. Only the necessary files needed to complete the installation are written to the NAND. There is no difference between that script and Jeff's other than the issue with debootstrap which has been fixed in the former.by varkey - Debian
Use this script, worked fine for me. http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,4244,4587#msg-4587by varkey - Debian

Jeff's replacement uboot is not able to load Pogo on the GoFlex Net. Connect a USB flash drive with a known working kernel and rootfs and it should boot from it.by varkey - Debian
QuoteJantle the MPP-pins for the four LEDs on the right are MPP38 to MPP41. for the four LEDs on the left: MPP42 to MPP45. Thank you! :) I have compiled a kernel for GoFlex Net with support for the white LEDs. :) It can be downloaded from here -- http://www.varkey.in/files/linux-image-2.6.37.6-goflex_1.0_armel.debby varkey - Debian
Finally I have compiled a newer kernel (2.6.37.6) with support for the GoFlex Net and GoFlex Home ( Modifications taken from Peter Carmichael's Git Repo ) I have also added support for the white leds on either side of the GoFlex Net ( Got the pin details from here ) The sheeva.with-linux config was used as base, sata_mv driver (inbuilt) like before. I compiled a kernel for the GoFlex Net with the instructions given here. I was not sure whether the patch would work for a newer version of the kernel so built the same version (2.6.35.4). Anyway I have compiled the sata_mv driver as inbuilt and it supports the GoFlex Net arcNumber (3089). I couldn't test the SATA as I don't have a GoFlex drive that fits in that port. I installed Debian on my GoFlex Net today with Jeff's Script modified by shyd to fix the dbootstrap issue. Uboot and Debian installed fine and I can boot into debian as well. But if no bootable USB drive is connected, it fails to boot into PogoPlug OS ( On the Dockstar this works perfectly ) This is the netconsole log when no USB drive is connected. In another topic Jeff has mentioned this QuoteJeff The only thing holding back Debian from running on the Goflex is that the default Debian kernel does not have support for the Goflex arcNumber. If you install uboot/debian just like you would on a Dockstar, you can then use the Sheevaplug + SATA arcNumber (which Debian does support) or install the kernel you referenced above if you want to uby varkey - Debian

My 3G modem is not working with this kernel. I think its cause the 'option' driver is not included. Will it be possible you to compile one with this module, would help a lot of users who are using the dockstar as a 3G gateway. :)by varkey - Debian
