Bodhi, I got my NSA320 uboot updated but I think i did not do something quite right. I left my rootfs unchanged except for labelling my sda1 as rootfs. There are 3 partitions on this drive as follows: sda1 for boot and rootfs sda2 swap sda3 is just a filesystem for backups When I boot from this drive I get a kernel panic. Is there something I did that caused this? Any suggestions? Hby herb - uBoot
Thanks Bodhi. It seems I did an update on my laptop and now the latest Firefox (60) does not do things like the previous one did. I'm going to have to be careful because I have a number of files that DO NOT match their MD5sums! Herbby herb - uBoot
I'm trying to updatemy NSA320's to this latest u-boot. I have flashed the uboot image BUT i cannot find a environment file to flash. The best (?) choice would be "uboot.2016.05-tld1" but I get this when I try to ubtar it. /tmp# tar -xf uboot.2016.05-tld-1.environment.bodhi.tar tar: This does not look like a tar archive tar: Skipping to next header tar: Exiting with faby herb - uBoot
I'm trying to update a couple of NSA320 servers and find that the "environlent" files give me errors when it try to un-tar them. Are the default environment (without specific entries ethaddr etc.) available in the u-boot image that can be modified and then saved via serial command?? Herbby herb - uBoot
bodhi & warheadsSE I notice that "the end might be in sight" ;-) Is there any thought on when a release of u-boot for the NSA325 and NSA320 would be available? herbby herb - Debian
bodhi I have a problem with kernel 3.17(FTD) on a couple of NSA320 boxes. After the kernel boots, the following lines are printed on my serial console (not on ssh console): [ 431.463359] mv643xx_eth_port mv643xx_eth_port.0 eth0: link down [ 431.469384] mv643xx_eth_port mv643xx_eth_port.0 eth0: link up, 1000 Mb/s, full duplex, flow control disabled [ 743.225273] mv643xx_eth_port mv643xxby herb - Debian
I'm using: Bus 005 Device 002: ID 067b:2303 Prolific Technology, Inc. PL2303 Serial Port I specified the port speed on the command line. The uart boot was: 312 -rw-r--r-- 1 herbr herbr 312828 Aug 29 22:12 uboot.2013.10-tld-1.nsa325.uart.kwb The version of kwboot is unlnown. I cannot see any version info anywhere! Herbby herb - Debian
bodhi consider the 4TB a full success! I pulled the drive from my NSA320 and stuffed it in the NSA325 and it simoly came up no problems;-) Herbby herb - Debian
command line: time ./kwboot -t -B 115200 /dev/ttyUSB0 -b ./uboot.2013.10-tld-1.nsa325.uart.kwb -p result: real 0m32.111s user 0m0.076s sys 0m0.270s bodhi, you say you've been using the nand version. Are there any problems??? I'll flash it to nand but I'm backing up my 4TB drive (less than 599GB used) before I try this. I'll post when I get done. Herbby herb - Debian
I received my NSA325 and have been trying to uart load bodhi's uboot.2013.10-tld-1.nsa325.uart.kwb to test it out. I did get it to load twice but have been unsuccessful since (over 30 to 40 attempts). Every time it fails it fails on the 97% line just near the end. I've tried to uart boot with and without a hard drive in case that might have an impact but no change. I'm suspicioby herb - Debian
I've got an NSA325 and tried to boot the uart uboot. It starts to load the uart uboot but fails. I noticed something during tese tests. I start kwboot and then power on the NSA325. As I watched the progress I noticed that the power led comes on for a short time then goes off. As close as I can tell that's when the kwboot fails with the xmodem protocol error. I have a Buffalo LS-WVL/E nas that I'd like to dump the Buffalo software (and u-boot) and get a U-boot from this thread and use Debian on. The problem I have is that this LS-WVL has flash on board so it boots and runs the Kernel from flash. That kernel WILL NOT allow me to use non RAID disks on it. This makes recovery difficult. Besides, I just like the simplest solution! The LS-WVL isby herb - uBoot
Is 2014.07 stable for the NSA320?? Herbby herb - uBoot
Thanks you two! I cannot get into the command prompt to try to fix things. After the ethernet is enabled I get the reboot "Orion1 CPU = Low" and that repeats. It looks to me like the network driver is broken or is the wrong one. Herbby herb - uBoot
Yeah, it is. It still could be used but the u-boot seemsto be broken. The problem is DG has taken his repository off the net. I cannot find it anywhere. I've tried to find a release of u-boot that has support for Kurpbox/Pro, no dice. I can't even find an original u-boot from Revogear/Buffalo. Herbby herb - uBoot
I have a Kurobox/Pro (based on Marvell 88F5182) and am very interested in the Kirkwood thread to amalamte all support for Kirkwood SOC's. I know the 88F5182 is NOT Kirkwood but given a Kurobox/Pro u-boot source tree I possibly can recover this unit. Here's a serial port capture of the boot up of my Kurobox/Pro. It doesn't seem to be quite sane. The header printed out indicates itby herb - uBoot
