Greetings, I would like to know if this uBoot supports DTS. The reason I'm asking is because I'm trying to use Fedora 18 for ARM with my Pogo E02 and I'm having issues with the latest kernel. To explain a bit more, I have no problem booting Fedora 18 image available here: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Architectures/ARM/F18/Installation#Using_Fedora_on_a_Kirkwood_Deviceby pancho22 - uBoot
uBoot just hangs if a HDD >2TB is attached during boot process. So yeah, not only it doesn't support booting from from a HDD >2TB, it is completely impossible to use one unless it is connected after the OS is started. It isn't an option for me because some daemons I use that are started during OS booting need the HDD to be mounted... I hope someone would find a solution for that.by pancho22 - uBoot
What about this one? http://www.mail-archive.com/u-boot@lists.denx.de/msg115077.htmlby pancho22 - uBoot
Thanks for your considerable effort in trying to solve this issue. I hope someone in the news group will have a look on your uBoot build and shed some light on this behavior. On a side note, I always had problems with netconsole. It always worked pretty randomly for me on the current build but I understand it is unacceptable if it doesn't work at all with the one you compiled.by pancho22 - uBoot
Did you try installing Rescue System? http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?4,7915by pancho22 - uBoot
A few months ago I bought a 3TB WD HDD and I returned it to the store after I realized that uBoot didn't support HDD greater that 2TB. It was just impossible to boot my Pogoplug V2 with the HDD attached, although the drive was working fine if attached after boot process. Today, I came across a patch released last month that I believe would fix this problem: http://www.mail-archive.com/u-bby pancho22 - uBoot
I tried partitioning the HDD but it doesn't work I ended up buying a 2TB drive and returning the 3TB to the store. At least I learned something. Thanks for your help.by pancho22 - uBoot
After reading other threads on this forum I believe I found the answer I was looking for. http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?3,6965,8187#msg-8187 Quotedavygravy I'd rather not do any advertising about support for drives of size greater than 2.1TB or GPT/EFI until I can get a 3TB drive and actually monkey w/ it, and test it for a few months. (... will go back and expunge any of my talk/coby pancho22 - uBoot
Are you sure there should be only one USB hub? Because when the USB flash drive is the only drive attached to the Pogoplug it looks like this: u-boot>> usb tree usb tree Device Tree: 1 Hub (480 Mb/s, 0mA) | u-boot EHCI Host Controller | +-2 Hub (480 Mb/s, 100mA) | USB2.0 Hub | +-3 Mass Storage (480 Mb/s, 200mA) SanDisk Cruzer Edge 200443by pancho22 - uBoot
Thanks for your help but the USB labeling technique doesn't solve the problem. Searching for the error message on Google doesn't really give much information either. The first hit is a similar unresolved bug reported on open-wrt devel list and the second is this thread. I'm starting to think that there is some sort of incompatibility with this particular HDD. Here's my prinby pancho22 - uBoot
I'm having a problem booting my POGO-E02 off a USB flash drive with Debian while a particular USB HDD is attached to it. There is no problem when the USB stick is the only drive connected. I had no problem with my old WD My Book 500GB with a single NTFS partition but now I bought a WD My Book 3TB that I formatted as ext4 and it doesn't work anymore. The drive mounts fine when plugged afby pancho22 - uBoot
Sorry for being a bit lost with all of this but I'm a newcomer to the PogoPlug world. I have some experience using u-boot for having owned a now retired LSPPC. I received precious help from davygravy and Mind Bender over at the NAS-Central LinkStation forums a few years ago. I hope to find good souls over here to answer the numerous questions I have. I own a PogoPlug Mobile and would likeby pancho22 - uBoot
