Let me tell you that Transmission is really poor in finding peers when compared to torrent clients below are the steps for rtorrent and ruTorrent. apt-get install subversion build-essential automake libtool libcppunit-dev libcurl4-openssl-dev libsigc++-2.0-dev unzip unrar-free curl libncurses5-dev screen apt-get install apache2 php5 php5-cli php5-curl apt-get install libapache2-mod-scgi mby dinjo - Debian
I removed some packages the gui ones but after update it asks to install why does it keeps asking?by dinjo - Debian
I have used several torrent clients by views are 1. rTorrent - Probably the most prefered client it has nice GUI and light on resources works very well in downloading and uploading , Simple Fast and Reliable. 2. Deluge - The fastest client i would say and most memory intensive if you have memory then its the way to go but its not really good for downloading lots of torrents together or keeby dinjo - Debian
Rather prefer Debian though Im currently on Ubuntu now since no proper port for Debianby dinjo - Debian

Or anything like that net.ipv4.tcp_rmem = 4096 524000 67110000 net.ipv4.tcp_wmem = 4096 524000 67110000 net.ipv4.tcp_tw_recycle = 1 net.ipv4.tcp_tw_reuse = 1 net.ipv4.tcp_timestamps = 0 net.ipv4.tcp_sack=1 net.ipv4.tcp_max_syn_backlog = 8192 net.core.somaxconn = 1024 net.core.netdev_max_backlog = 250by dinjo - Debian

It might be that usb is not getting powered up completely and hence at times the ordering would change you might have to put a sleep in your boot_cmd to wait for usb drive to come up.by dinjo - Debian

I'm currently mounting HDD from rc.local but i want it to automount since i wanted all process to have clean startup and clean shutdown(update-rc,d) which at the moment may not be happening , ex- The drive may not get mounted but a torrent client would start and would fail saying no data is found since HDD is not mounted at that time.by dinjo - Debian
Hmm,.. not sure why its a delay but I'll just let it go but i could not figure out why its not allowing me to go to command mode in netconsole i.e its in readonly mode. I cannot get my second partition to get mounted it has different label and i guess rootfs should get mounted and should boot but as soon as i add in fstab goflex does not boot , does anyone has a sample working fstab ?by dinjo - Debian
Seems like netconsole does not come up until 33 seconds maybe thats the reason the previous log are not shown [ 23.121018] sd 0:0:0:0: Attached SCSI disk [ 23.136067] sd 0:0:0:0: Attached scsi generic sg0 type 0 [ 33.626464] netpoll: netconsole: local port 6666 [ 33.631114] netpoll: netconsole: local IPv4 address 192.168.1.110 [ 33.637304] netpoll: netconsole: interface 'etby dinjo - Debian

Bump Does anyone see performance improvement after the below changes i don't really know what exactly the commands in rc.local are doing /etc/rc.local blockdev --setra 16384 /dev/sdX # set the readahead value to 16MiB ifconfig eth0 txqueuelen 5000 # buffer 5000 outgoing packets in memory echo deadline > /sys/block/sdX/queue/scheduler # use alternative I/O-scheduler /etc/by dinjo - Debian
