The four pin connector is the serial port. I believe the eight pin connector is for JTAG.by Frederick Grayson - Displays
I run swap on my PogoPlugs that run Debian via the dphys-swapfile program, not a separate partition.by Frederick Grayson - Debian

I used this howto, but only sections 3 & 4. https://wiki.debian.org/WiFi/HowToUseby Frederick Grayson - Debian
That's (70/70) the highest possible Quality. How far apart are the wireless AP and the Pogoplug? Mine is nowhere near as good, Quality=49/70 Signal level=-61 dBm, with about 40 feet separation thru one wall and door. But it always stays connected.by Frederick Grayson - Debian
I am using wpa-supp. Have you run (as root): iwlist wlan0 scanning If so what are the Quality and Signal levels to your access point?by Frederick Grayson - Debian
I have several PogoPlug E02s running wireless using these adapters: http://www.amazon.com/gp/search?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=9325&index=aps&keywords=RT5370&linkCode=ur2&tag=blogqnologyco-20 which are identified as 5370 Ralink Technology, Corp. RT5370 Wireless Adapters. I have no problems keeping them connected over reasonable distances.by Frederick Grayson - Debian
One thing you might not have known is that when monitoring with nc, the last thing you will ever see is: Starting kernel ... even during a normal bootup with everything working.by Frederick Grayson - Debian
If you want rsyslog, install it yourself. I did.by Frederick Grayson - Debian
What is contained in your /etc/network/interfaces file?by Frederick Grayson - uBoot
I would try changing the eth0 section of /etc/network/interfaces to be: # The primary network interface auto eth0 allow-hotplug eth0 iface eth0 inet dhcpby Frederick Grayson - uBoot
Yes, it can be hacked to allow Debian or ALARM to be installed. I have two of them that I have done this with, as well as a POGO-V4-A3-01. And I have three hacked POGO-E02s.by Frederick Grayson - Off-Topic

Have you looked at the webmin entry in the Bootup and Shutdown module? Is Webmin set to start at boot?by Frederick Grayson - Debian
It has been my experience that when watching the boot with netconsole, even a normal to completion boot, what you are seeing is all you are going to see. Watching it on a serial console will show you more, and if the boot is normal to completion you will see a login: prompt.by Frederick Grayson - Debian

When all the way into Debian, the command is fw_setenv. When in Uboot after interrupting the countdown timer, the command is setenv.by Frederick Grayson - uBoot
I installed an inline switch to make power cycling a lot easier.by Frederick Grayson - Debian
On netconsole, Starting kernel ... is all you will see, it isn't necessarily hung. Serial console will show you more, a lot more. If the boot is normal, it will show you a login prompt.by Frederick Grayson - uBoot
Starting kernel ... Is that netconsole output or serial console output?by Frederick Grayson - uBoot
In my case, running Wheezy, the drivers needed for my Ralink USB dongle are not in the kernel. This requires manual installation of the firmware package, and then manual configuration of the interface. It's not difficult, and in my case very well documented on the Debian Wiki.by Frederick Grayson - Debian
I'm not running a netconsole listener (socat) when I am looking at the serial console. Here is the serial console output which has no countdown timer and cannot be interrupted to gain a Uboot prompt: U-Boot 2011.12 (Feb 20 2012 - 21:21:59) Pogoplug E02 SoC: Kirkwood 88F6281_A0 DRAM: 256 MiB WARNING: Caches not enabled NAND: 128 MiB In: serial Out: serial Err: seriaby Frederick Grayson - uBoot
It really works, I rebooted half a dozen times and got netconsole output on all of them on socat running on Win 7. However, on the serial console of the E02, it can't be interrupted to get to a Uboot prompt. There is no countdown displayed.by Frederick Grayson - uBoot

It's not clear what you want me to do with this.
