I have the GlobalScale JTAG Module that came with one of my DreamPlugs, so it's an easy setup for me as I just plug the provided cable. Bodhi posted the pinout in an earlier thread as follows: Serial consolse pinouts Small 4-pin connector (I think it is on the left side) Left-to-Right (outside looking in, the port is exposed as one of the connectors, no modd needed) 1 GND 2 Rby rayknight - Off-Topic
Joey stated "Barring further advice I might order 2 x 150 Mbps and have reliable wireless for Pogoplug, Beelink or maybe even DreamPlug is the image requires it." Both the Beelink and DreamPlug have onboard wireless. If you're having issues with that perhaps I can help you get it working. Rayby rayknight - Off-Topic
Joey do you not have a serial connection to the DreamPlug? It should be extremely easy to debug your issue with output from the serial port. Rayby rayknight - Off-Topic
The DreamPlug was the original target for FreedomBox around 2012. Rayby rayknight - Off-Topic

There must be multiple versions of the M22 then as the one I have which I created the WikiDevi entry with is identical to the V10R1 Dreamplug I have. Rayby rayknight - uBoot

The Pogoplug E01 is essentially a re-branded GlobalScale Sheevaplug even sharing the 003-SPL1001 model number. The most apparent difference is that the Pogoplug E01 has only 256MB of memory where the Sheevaplug has 512MB. Previously I tried using the Sheevaplug U-Boot to update one of my PogoPlug E01 units, but it hangs at this point: U-Boot 2016.05-tld-1 (Jun 12 2016 - 14:02:47 -0700) Maby rayknight - uBoot

If you decide to purchase one you may wish to check out Armbian for use as the OS. They provide both a Debian and Ubuntu based image optimized for the hardware. If you choose the Debian image you can use the included armbian-config application to install OpenMediaVault as well. See Armbian forum for details. Rayby rayknight - Off-Topic
This unit is now supported in the LEDE/OpenWrt trunk @ LEDE/OpenWrt Kirkwood Image Files If you download the imagebuilder you can find the image-kirkwood-on100.dtb file in the build_dir/target-arm_xscale_musl_eabi/linux-kirkwood directory. I believe there to still be issues as I am experiencing Kernel panics whenever there is high I/O on the USB bus. Rayby rayknight - Debian
OK, I solved the problem myself! It was caused by using the original software definition for the mtdparts uboot environment variable. When using a more standard mtdparts definition I was able to flash the uboot and can now boot from an ext4 partition on USB. Still unable to boot from MMC device as uboot doesn't identify any partitions. However if I boot from USB I can then mount the exby rayknight - Debian
Using kwboot to start the uboot.2016.05-tld-2.18.on100_k9.mtd0.kwb bodhi uploaded previously I was able to boot the Debian 4.12.1 image using the dtb file from LEDE. I was able to dump images from the original NAND, but I get errors when attempting to root@debian:~# cat /proc/mtd dev: size erasesize name mtd0: 00200000 00200000 "uBoot" mtd1: 00200000 00200000 "dualbby rayknight - Debian
I'm attempting to restart work on this system again. Support for booting LEDE was committed back in May of 2017 so I have LEDE successfully installed on one of my units. However LEDE still uses the original uboot and boots from ubifs on the NAND and I would prefer to boot from MMC. The original UBoot doesn't appear to support booting from MMC or from an ext3 file system. Bodhi doby rayknight - Debian
For NAS use SATA is not always necessary today. A USB 3 port with support for UASP can in many instances outperform SATA on most ARM based boards. See the Odroid HC1 for a $50 ARM based system designed for use as a NAS using USB 3 with a JMicron JMS578 USB to SATA bridge. Rayby rayknight - Off-Topic

If you want to purchase either the VIM or VIM2 I suggest you use GearBest which is the official outlet for these units as the Buy link on https://www.khadas.com/vim links to GearBest. This is where I purchased my VIM in Dec 2016 and my VIM2 in Oct 2017. Rayby rayknight - Off-Topic
The VIM is a Quad Core A53 ARM, the VIM2 a more expensive model is Octa Core. The VIM is only Fast Ethernet while the VIM2 has Gigabit Ethernet. One model of the VIM2 also has dual-band wireless. Both are supplied with a high quality USB Type-C power cables, but can alternatively be powered via a 2 pin JST connector. A heat sink should really be added to either unit, preferably with a fan.by rayknight - Off-Topic
From all the information I've been reading it appears that what is being called Meltdown only affects Intel and a few as yet rare ARM 64 chips. The Spectre issue is more widespread but shouldn't affect any of the ARM5 chips, so Kirkwood won't be affected. Rayby rayknight - Debian

I have successfully used the above uboot on an AppNeta Pathview microAppliance m22 which is a re-labeled Dreamplug. Only issue I had was realizing that the internal microSD card had a partition labeled rootfs which caused issues when trying to boot Debian from an external USB drive! Once I corrected that I successfully booted a Debian-4.12.1-kirkwood image from USB. Rayby rayknight - uBoot

Bodhi, the Sheevaplug is one of the units that does not support kwboot. As far as I can tell Armbian currently only supports armv7l and aarch64 so you would have some development work to do to get it on a GoFlexHome/Net or PogoPlug Pro (armv5tel). I have Armbian running on a HardKernel Odroid-XU4, Pine64 and an Orange Pi Zero. Rayby rayknight - Off-Topic
