I the instruction given there is install from Squeeze directly, not upgrade.by twinclouds - Debian
I am not a linux expert either so I cannot tell if the method you described will work or not. Below is the way I did for transferring the root system installation on an USB to a HDD. It has been tested working. 1. Back up the usb root partition on a PC. On a linux box, I used partimage. On a Windows, I used Acronis True Image. Other back up software should also work but these were what I usby twinclouds - Debian
O.K. After try and error. Now I can set led to be constant green at exit now.by twinclouds - uBoot
Jeff: Thanks. The problem I had has nothing to do with uboot or blparam. It was related to one of your postings about the ethernet port assignment when a USB driver plugged into a new Dockstar. The problem has been solved by disabling Squeeze to do that. I still not sure how I can change the LED color yet. Should I use setenv (I will need to set up netconsole in this case) or use fw_setenv.by twinclouds - uBoot
I renamed these two files last night. Now, there's no issues for an Squeeze installation on other DockStars. It works great now! Another advantage of Squeeze I found is that if you editor the resolv.conf file, it will not get over written in dhcp mode like Lenny. (There's a way to stop Lenny doing that but some other changes are needed.) One problem I found for Debian on Dockstar,by twinclouds - Debian
Will removing these two files cause any problem?by twinclouds - Debian
This is what I read from Google. I will try that out.by twinclouds - Debian

Thanks. What about the second statement, will it be removed also? BTW, can I force the reinstall blparam by removing the if statement checking if blparam has been installed already?by twinclouds - uBoot
Jeff: I installed your new uBoot and it works fine. However, when I check the environment parameters, the old modifications for mtd3 dual boot are still there. How I can delete these changes, mainly the statements: if_connected='ping ${active_host}' and 'run if_connected bootcmd_usb; run bootcmd_original'?by twinclouds - uBoot

I don't have any problem to use the same USB stick on multiple Dockstars. As Jeff said, you need to install uboot on every Dockstar in order to boot into the OS. The uboot is on the Dockstar, not on the USB.by twinclouds - uBoot
Your steps look correct for me. You need to connect wlan before download the .sh file into the internal storage, though. When you run the script, it will automatically install Jeff's latest uboot, as you can see in the "Install uBoot on /dev/mtd0" in the script. The script works fine for me but it took a long time, much more than the 20 minutes as Jeff said. So give yourself onby twinclouds - Debian

I installed Debian, Asterisk, FreePBX, and GV-Sipgate dial out on my Dockstar successfully. I use the defaul ip setting, i.e., dhcp. It in general works fine. However, I did notice that it took a long time when search for the file servers during installation. It also took long time to update the FreePBX modules. It was frustrating but I got by with patience. However, when I tried the Googleby twinclouds - Debian
