Hi, Bodhi: Thanks. The reason I tried Qui's approach is because I have the problem in the previous installation that if I unplug RJ-45 cable and reconnect, the connection will not resume. His installation does not have that problem so I try to see if it will correct the original problem in the previous installation, also Then I could not boot from the SD card any more. I just found ouby twinclouds - Debian
Qui, Bodhi and all: Thanks to Qui's excellent tutorial. I converted one of my Pogo Mobile from original firmware to Debian. Everything when smoothly. It also solved one problem I had using the previous installation. It was just very straight forward. Again, thanks for sharing your good work. I then tried to covert my another one, which already running Debian, using the new procedure. Iby twinclouds - Debian
Asterisk should work well on Ubuntu. I don't know what happened to GV with XMPP. To be fair, Google had never officially stated that they would be going to retire XMPP. In any case, it was a good excercize to revive the callback approach. Instead of using NUC, another good candidate to replace Dockstar was those MK TV sticks. I did some CPU benchmarking on some of the devices I have usiby twinclouds - Debian

I have an issue with bodhi's rootfs installed on Pogo Mobile hope bodhi or somebody else can help. Everything works fine except if I unplug the ethernet cable then replug it in, the ethernet cannot reconnect. I need to reboot the box to get it back. My interfaces file is: auto lo iface lo inet loopback # iface eth0 inet dhcp auto ech0 allow-hotplug eth0 iface eth0 inet static addby twinclouds - Debian
Bodhi: Eventually I made it work following what described here for Rasp Pi. I don't know why it didn't work before but at least it works now. Thanks for the help from you. Edit: Well it stop working once I remove the ethernet cableby twinclouds - Debian
Bodhi: Thanks. The post you referenced is for a specific wifi adapter that I don't have and it is for make the Dockstar to be a AP, different from what I need. I am able to install what needed for my USB Wifi adapters to work and it looked working. However, I cannot access the device through wifi without the ethernet attached. This defeated the whole purpose. For RastPi, there's nby twinclouds - Debian
Hi, Bodhi, I made a new SD card containing your rootfs. Everything works fine for pogo/mobile. The SD card boot setting is done in Uboot, independent of rootfs. I found this in my previous posting and just forgot about that. Have you every tried using Dockstar and similar with wifi? I always have trouble to do that lately. If you did, can you provide, or point me to, the procedure that wasby twinclouds - Debian
Bodhi, Looking forward to see your modified guide. I will test it out once seen it and give you feed back. - Twincloudsby twinclouds - Debian
Bodhi: Thanks. There's two things you didn't mentioned in your guide. One is if it is to be installed on SD card instead of USB, is there anything additional need to be done. I used to figured it out but forgot about it. For a newbee, it might be important because the mobile has only one USB port. The second one is that you mentioned it is necessary to set the right ArcNumber. Itby twinclouds - Debian
I installed Debian on Pogo/mobile. Somehow, it is not that reliable. I may need to install again. Another problem is that the Pogo/mobile has only one USB. It is usually not enough unless you add a hub. I have two MK802 sticks. One is "genien" MK802-II, another is one of these knockoffs. The flash image I got from here. The genien one works fine but I cannot do apt-get update onby twinclouds - Debian

I would say Raspberry Pi is a good choice. The nice thing about it is it has a much larger user base than Dockstar and community to support it. The price is a little bit higher but it also has more functionalities.by twinclouds - Debian
Hi, Bodhi: Thank you for your prompt reply as always. The problem I found was that I am experimenting vpn for my home network. Somehow the Dockstar was signed a vpn IP address. The vpn can only connect to the internal ip addresses but not external. I need to find out how to fix that. However, after disabling the vpn server, everything works now. In any case, I really appreciate your help.by twinclouds - Debian
Hi, I have an dockstar it's uboot has never been updated. When I try to run it with no USB attached, it can connect to my local network fine but cannot ping outside. I think it is dns server problem but I don't know where is the network configulation file. Hope somebody can help. Thanks.by twinclouds - Debian
The new How-To can be found here.by twinclouds - Debian
I found the problem with 3G mobile connection. It was not hardware problem. The problem is pretty interesting. In order to connect from internet through 3G on my Android phone, I need to open the sip port at the router. In order to reduce the chance of online attacks, I don't want to use the standard port like 5060. I use some arbitrary port number from outside and using port forwardingby twinclouds - Debian
PG: Thanks. It works to ping both ways now using the method you pointed me to. Thank you very much. However, I can only ping the VPN subnet (170.17.0.x or 10.8.0.x). I cannot ping other ip numbers on my home network (192.168.2.x). I added "push "route 192.168.2.0 255.255.255.0"" in server.conf, according from Googling but still does not work. Yes. Actually, I already experimented somewhat. It works in the local net although the selection if DID is very important. If I call from my mobile over 3G, it seems hardware (!) dependent. Not sure why but at least something works. We can share our experience when you are ready to try.by twinclouds - Debian
You may be able to do the old way as described here. It is not as nice but still possible to make calls, hopefully.by twinclouds - Debian
Hi, PeterGunn: Looks like you are still active on this board. I am recently interested in OpenVPN for the application as you described. I installed a openvpn server on Dockstar a few times including using your scripts and did some initial testing. Everytime, I can ping the server (10.8.0.1) from the windows 7 notebook using Openvpn-GUI but cannot ping from Dockstar side to the client (10.8.0.by twinclouds - Debian
Bodhi: I tried your approach on the squeezeplug installation and it worked also. It looks like the key is using upgrade instead of list-upgrade and hold udev as you said. Thank you very much for your help.by twinclouds - Debian
I have an Pogoplug B01 (I think the processor is the same as Pogoplug Pro). I installed Debian Squeeze using squeezeplug as someone suggested (maybe Bodhi?) It worked fine. However, right now I want to upgrade it to Wheezy and dist-upgrade didn't work out. Does anyone has suggestions? If it has discussed this somewhere on this forum, please point the link to me also. I think you are in the wrong forum. Looks like you want to use your mk808 directly for your download etc. The mk808 comes with Android but this is not a Android forum. Unless you want to install linux on your mk808. From my experince, it is not an easy task. You probably better stick with Android and to ask this question in an Android forum. Good luck. Please let me know if it works for you. I have repeated the same procedure on 802ii and everytime it always works. However, it is a different story on 808. My previous installation still works but when I try to make image of the microSD card or create another card with rootfs. I cannot boot successfully. Not sure why is that.by twinclouds - Allwinner A10
I haven't touch my wifi installation on squeeze for years. Recently, I upgraded Squezze to Wheezy. However, I cannot make my wifi usb dougle working on it. I have tried realtek, ralink and atheros dougle but all have various problems. If anybody have such successful experiences, I would appreciate if you can share them. Thanks.by twinclouds - Debian
I was interested in installing Debian/Ubuntu on these devices. Because there are so many clones and some of images do not work, I struggled for a while and eventually find some sourses to make them boot. Not perfect but seemed working. I think it might be useful to share my experience. For MK802, I bought from Amazon but they couldn't boot the images that I downloaded at all. I had to rby twinclouds - Allwinner A10

Hi, I would like to set up my own email server using my domain, say "mydomain.com" hosted on zoneedit on Dockstar. I followed the instructions for Citadel on Raspberry Pi given in this link.
