4apaev, I think it is best to avoid Windows tools for this. There are 3 different ways you can do this: 1. If you have access to Mac OSX, use it to create the GPT partition with HFS+ file system. 2. If you dont have Mac OSX, download and boot the PC with Linux Live CD, and then use gparted, or parted to wipe and create new GPT partiton with Ext3/2/4 filesystem. and in either case , thenby bodhi - Debian
marlemion, Also I should mention, there are 3 versions of the NSA310 DTB now! Look for these DTBs from my latest kernel release linux-4.5.0-kirkwood-tld-1 tarball in http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,12096by bodhi - uBoot

4apaev, It does not show anything out of the ordinary. It'll be good to see: - The same parted and fdisk output when it is connected as SATA. - Also how did you prepare the disk before? was that on Linux (which command) or on OSX or Windows? - Are there important data on it, i.e. is it OK to wipe the disk and create new partition?by bodhi - Debian
@4apaev, Do what boba said above, but also tell us more: - How did you prepare the 4TB HDD? using parted to create a 4TB GPT partition? or did you use the hybrid method (older technique which is not necessary with new u-boot). - When you booted with USB 4TB, what are the out put of parted -l and fdisk -lby bodhi - Debian
volker, QuoteBut with kwboot and a decent U-Boot kwb file I'm able to boot the box and have access to a "NSA325>"-prompt. Do what Joe said, but use the 2015.10 NSA325 u-boot, to run kwboot. This makes sure you can boot all the way into Debian with its default envs.by bodhi - uBoot

I've adapted a driver patch that the author has tested on the mv88e6176 switch. And it partially works! The remaining issue is how to power up this mv88e6171 PHYs from a cold start. Below is kwboot from a warm start, where stock u-boot has been used to boot the new kernel version 4.5.0-kirkwood-tld-1.1 (with the EA4500 DTS uploaded by Michael). The driver works in this warm start case, bby bodhi - Debian

Looks like I've partially solved this Ethernet issue :) will do a little more testing to confirm. Yes, I've also read both threads above before.by bodhi - Debian
codier, > I couldn't boot into rescue. I have no idea why it > didn't boot into it. Could you check why? You did not have it in the bootcmd. Add it to the end: Try it in serial console: setenv bootcmd 'run bootcmd_uenv; run scan_disk; run set_bootargs; run bootcmd_exec; run bootcmd_rescue' After verifying that it works, reboot normally and then set it in Dby bodhi - uBoot

So far my current u-boot build works OK. The only thing remains not working is network during boot. This is uncharted territory, since we don't have a working Ethernet switch driver in main-line u-boot. I found a patch for the Marvell 6176 switch, but that is also not quite ready.by bodhi - Debian
nick, > and how to boot with zimage or dtb file? > my plug boots sometimes and sometimes not > Your envs look fine. But you have been booting without a separate DTB. addy, Mount your rootfs on a different Linux box. If it was assigned sdb1 then: Unmount, then check for errord e2fsck /dev/sdb1 then check the label hdd-root e2label /dev/sdb1 Take this out from bootargs, why is it there? :::orion:eth0:none Also you are using ext4 for the rootfs, right? your bootargs specified that.by bodhi - uBoot
marlemion, If you boot Arch Linux with separate DTB, check the following: - Make sure the DTB was not embbeded into uImage. Could be you still have the nsa325 embedded in there. - The DTB location on Arch rootfs is different: /boot/dtbs. So this u-boot env must be changed dtb_file=/boot/dtbs/kirkwood-nsa310.dtbby bodhi - uBoot
