I just ordered a MOTU M4, which by all accounts is a fantastic value for an audio interface. Here is a nice review from a Linux guy. *excerpt: Update 2020-04-13: As of April 2020 and kernel 5.6.3, full-duplex (simultaneous input/output) requires the use of JACK; pure ALSA and PulseAudio will not work in full-duplex mode. It would appear there are major differences between one version of SanDisk Extreme PRO 32GB and another. Here is the one I should have bought, SDSDXPA-032G-X46 which clearly states there's wear leveling, but instead ordered this, SDSDXXG-032G-GN4IN, which doesn't say there's wear leveling. All of that looks fantastic and I'll be keeping an eye out for sales. For a while I've felt that money spent at the $50 point should be a x64 SOC and under $50 the money was best spent on one of the items on this page you guys listed. I'm at Amazon price checking recorders and stumble upon this stereo microphone intended to plug into a iPhone etc: I wish I had one on hand, but it appears there is a 16-bit A/D converter inside so I don't know if it's looking for a SPDIF-in on the iPhone, but if it's converted it's digital and that makes a lot of sense. Not long ago I knew of wireless SD cards (this might be be of them), where you could access your camera without wearing out the USB jack, because plugging in a USB cable every time you take a picture sometimes isn't convenient. I've had a couple Canon cameras with no wireless. So now I'm debating whether to buy a decent portable recorder, and if so it would make sense if there wby JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic

Both my desktop PCs are about 11 years old, both quadcores both 8 GB RAM Windows 10 Pro. A lot of TLC went into these and they run like tops. But... it would not surprise me -11 years being a few Moore's Laws- if soon or now there are system on a chips to replace these at much lower energy cost. Maybe I'm getting ahead of myself. I never get far away from reviews about some octa-core ARM boxes that are sluggish doing medium weight processing. I just wonder if they got their ratio wrong, say if there were more generous cache and fewer than eight cores? Maybe I can chime in a couple questions if no one minds... 1. A USB 3.0 port is mighty enticing. I wonder, if you plugged in a USB 3.0 hub (which probably costs more than the board!) if the OS "hard drive" could be one of the ports off the hub? In theory I'm thinking of those powered hubs wit individual switches. 2. The 4 cores and their management: is this something that caby JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic
