Robert, This is the correct thread to follow to install Debian on Pogo Pro: http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,16044by bodhi - uBoot
Is the dat file name /etc/Wireless/RT2860STA/RT2860STA.dat ? what does dmesg says when it was loaded?by bodhi - Debian
farsheed , You should be able to boot Arch with the current u-boot envs. To setup netconsole, see this thread: http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?3,14 Your serverip (the other Linux box where you run netconsole to monitor the GF Net), and the ipaddr (the IP address of this GF Net) must be adjusted to conform to your local network (either 192.168.x.x or 10.10.10.x) serverip=10.10.10.3by bodhi - uBoot
Get the latest rootfs from here: http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,12096 Put this on USB stick, boot with it and let us know the status.by bodhi - Rescue System
ALARM uses a different driver, iirc. If you have serial console, I think you might see error during the time the driver loads the settings. Wireless/ra2 does not seems to be a correct directory. I'm not at home so I can't check my old log for you. You could ask this at Arch site in this thread: http://archlinuxarm.org/forum/viewtopic.php?f=55&t=6193 Other thought: check your dmesby bodhi - Debian

a, At Linux command line root@debian:~# fw_setenv ethaddr 'xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx' where 'xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx' is the MAC address that is on the sticker on bottom of the GF Net.by bodhi - uBoot
farsheed, Please put the log in code, it's very hard to read as regular text. And follow my recommendation to boot with the Debian rootfs. Once you are in Linux command line, fixing neconsole is easy. I can't help you before you do that.by bodhi - uBoot
Gp, It's a standard wifi installation on Linux. You can google it. And I did wifi long time ago not recently. I'm using my PCI slot for other experiment.by bodhi - Debian
Does wlan show in ifconfig -a ? After verifying that it does, you will need to do standard setup for the rest to initialize the card: probably a rt28xx dat file in proper place, wireless parameters in /etc/network/interfaces ...by bodhi - Debian
theliquid, [ 0.000000] Kernel command line: console=ttyS0,115200 root=/dev/sda1 rootdelay=10 rootfstype=ext3 mtdparts=orion_nand:2M(u-boot),3M(uImage),3M(uImage2),8M(failsafe),112M(root) Should use rootfs label for the card, too.by bodhi - Debian
gp, Nobody has worked on the installation script for new u-boot and kernel for the Pogo Pro, and I have provided a manual procedure in this thread. It is entirely possible to implement a script. However, because WarheadsSE indicated that ALARM might reinstate the official Arch support for this box, so I did not want to pursue further.by bodhi - Debian
twinclouds, Probably be this typo? > auto ech0by bodhi - Debian
Theliquid, Do you have the Pogo V4 or the Pogo Mobile? V4 has the SATA slot, Mobile does not. If it is the V4 then you must use the USB slot on top for booting (the rear ones are USB 3.0). Either way, looks like the USB stick is not good for booting. It might have errors, so you might need to mount it on another Linux box and do fsck. Loading file "/rescueme" from usb device 0:by bodhi - Debian
Yes. It does.by bodhi - Debian
farsheed, Use a new USB stick and put the latest Debian rootfs on it. Download this rootfs from: http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,12096 Boot with this rootfs to see if you can. After that, check u-boot envs to see if the current settings was the reason it did not boot Arch. Once you can boot this Debian rootfs, it is easier to recheck netconsole settings to get it working.by bodhi - uBoot
Hi Robert, > May I use your Debian zip for an open-source > project? > This project is a voip Asterisk (kind of soft PBX) > > By all means! please use it as you wish :) If you need any help regarding updating the rootfs to newer version or something like that, pls let me know.by bodhi - Debian
Lallo, It's best to use rsync. Don't use dd. Somewhere in the forum we discussed this, and a cron job is schedulded daily to execute it. Found it here: http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,12950,13049#msg-13049 In the above thread, syong also showed how it could be done using other backup command.by bodhi - Debian
letsjam1984, How did you back up your current USB rootfs? The error seems to indicate that the file system is Ext4. ** ext4fs_devread read error - block And your u-boot env is set to Ext3 usb_rootfstype=ext3 So if your rootfs was Ext4, then format a new USB drive as Ext4, and then restore it. Change the usbrootfs_type to ext4 in netconsole: setenv usb_rootfstype ext4 OTOH, ifby bodhi - Debian
Berryshake, Notice how this U-boot version detected your SD card: Loading file "/boot/uImage" from mmc device 0:1 (xxa1) and your usb_root is usb_root=/dev/sda1 To ensure that the rootfs is found by initrd regardless of the drive letter of the card, use the rootfs label approach: http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?3,8044,8152#msg-8152by bodhi - Debian
@velo, The Pogo Pro is similar to other plugs only after you've installed latest U-Boot and kernel. For other "legacy" installations, it is quite different. See the Requirements section in the Pogo V3 U-boot thread: http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?3,16017 @Maddy, So without describing what and how you have installed installed in details (dmesg, log,…everything you hadby bodhi - Debian
@Greg, Perhaps something in your local network/serial confiuration that has indirectly caused this reboot issue, as davidedg mentioned above? the basic rootfs is working without this problem, therefore the kernel is working fine.by bodhi - Debian
Thanks Davide, I did not realize you've updated your post until now :) Was that with the basic rootfs? Update: I recognized that this was with the basic rootfs, Thanks!by bodhi - Debian
gabor, add CONFIG_PM obj-$(CONFIG_PM) += pm.o to /usr/src/linux-3.14/arch/arm/mach-kirkwood/Makefile Then do make oldconfig to select it.by bodhi - Debian
Looker, > Can I use a USB stick from another working pogo > E02 with Archlinux up and working great or does it > need to be an stick dedicated to this box? > > Thank you That stick can be used on any Pogo E02. Settings need to change or match: 1. MAC address needs to macth this PogoE02: - look in Arch network interfaces, if it is defined (I recall it is) - that MACby bodhi - uBoot
@Looker You got it. The first = means "asign the entire string that appears after the = symbol to mtdparts variable". Any = symbol that appears in the string means a literal =, not an assignment. Regarding ippaddr and serverip, you can keep them like this (later when you get to know how to use them, they should be changed to conform to your local network): ipaddr=192.168.0.221by bodhi - uBoot
Davide & Greg, Perhaps you can try to put my basic roofts Debian-3.14.0-kirkwood-tld-1 on a stick, and boot it to see if the problem is the same?by bodhi - Debian
theliquid, TUN It is not included in the current config, and I could build a new version to include it. But I'm about to be on the road for a while, so probably about late next month is when I can test and release.by bodhi - Debian
Yes. When you reboot they will be gone. The idea is not to save the envs until after you have successfully booted into Debian. Just to avoid mistake in typos. However, you can save them in serial console, too, if you're sure that the envs were entered correctly. Given you have serial console, it's Ok to save ithem now with u-boot command: >> saveenv Just be careful not to exeby bodhi - uBoot
Yes, anything greater than 1.0.1e-2+deb7u6 is safe from Heartbleed... otoh, I think it's good to update to the latest openssl version whenever there is a security update for it.by bodhi - Debian
