That's one place they're terrible - working drivers for Mac came from a 3rd party, but I have one linux driver here, after untarring it's a blank file with no extension. Hey bodhi offhand do you have the code that makes Linux tell the kernel version? I'm making a cheatsheet with my Pogoplug specs and that might be a help if they're all listed like that. I tried Gray's tutorial for OpenWRT installing off Debian stick on Pogoplug Pro, and it doesn't seem to work. Lights flash, but i can't get into it. I'm real grateful for the obvious safeguards you have in place, as Debian stick will still boot. But i don't know where I went wrong at the tutorial. The thought occurred to me, I have three of these: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833166105 They come with drivers that work in Windows and Mac so far, and a Linux version as well. This could make sense in either the E02 with more RAM, or Pro as some kind of memory extension could be put into that free pcie slot. Also it makes much more sense in openWRT of course. I too am not the world's biggest NTFS fan. But on the windows side, if you turn off Indexing and time stamping, you could be okay with it, large file support. But what totally rocks is the freeware search engine for your files called Everything. It uses the file journal to search files and get results starting with one character. The thought just occurred to me, IF I knew what I was doing with common power supplies that I have laying around here: 1. The built-in fan could be directed to (or from) a little box of hard drives, say for instance 4 x 3.5" SATAs 2. Power jacks are right there for hard drives 3. As Pogoplug seems to have its power supply with a nice, clean jack on its motherboard, that could be reconneby JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic
I sign up with that place and order two SATA 22Pin to eSATA Data USB Powered Cable Adapters. Then they don't take PayPal Arrrgh. I just had enough to cover it. Any similar place anyone know of? Man, why they have to charge ten times more in the States is just insane - even 5 times is reasonable on some tiny parts. 10 x is kind of price gouging.by JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Debian
They supposedly give you the rebate in the form of an American Express Reward Card right? So I'd imagine if I had $20 in my name, I could technically buy another Pogoplug at $15 or so, right? But that means I'm on American Express's radar and I don't want a credit card nor anything other than PayPal. You could have a lucky streak I don't - both my Windows 7 x86 and x64 have the exclamation mark and says "has a problem". Installing Windows driver, then Port works. So I can say for sure in my case the drivers at the link work if that happens to someone else. I'll make sure picocom is installed in the Pogoplugs right away (thanks for that), but from the other side where the USB plug resides, my Windows 7 x64 didn't recognize mine in Device Manager. The Pogo E02, all i know is, the rescue system is the last thing I needed to install, and it boots reliably, dosne't fail when unplugged. Last Sunday what looked like a portable 2.5" drive caught my eye in mud, gravel and snow.
