Wow thanks you guys - and yes on all counts. Unfortunately last night, two hours after taking Melatonin, I turned off the Pogoplug by unplugging the power cord and neither stick wants to boot. No problem, another install wouldn't kill me at all LOL So I'll take two of you up on your offers to check my config file, and quickly answer a couple questions: My router (Rosewill) isby JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic

I tried both, and for one, it's an E02 not version 4, and the other one doesn't work anymore. Oh well, Arch with Samba beats Debian that doesn't work at all, anytime. With all due respect Frederick, might be advantageous to newbs if you deleted your posts.by JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic

Samba works happy but Webmin is making me suffer. I've never used Webmin, but on the surface it looks like it could help unlock the wholesome goodness of said Pogoplug :D Here's the code: ==> To make webmin start at boot time, add webmin to rc.conf daemons ==> Point your web browser to http://localhost:10000 to use webmin. ==> The access is restricted to localhost, if yoby JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic
hey you guys thanks a lot! For now and a brief while, I'll guinea pig Arch Linux and then once some things are squared away hopefully get on debian next week and do that right. Concerning Arch Linux (Arch being the reason i posted in this forum) has all kinds of incomplete website tutorials out there. Even at the Arch Linux site. I'd like to share a link that makes sense to by newbnessby JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic
I'm too scared to partition my only working USB stick with samba, but eventually I'll have to find a way. Seems 30% of my 4GB USB stick is used on Arch Linux, which is probably way too much. Eventually i'll get the courage to try the Samba technique, and of course soon I'll be happy to try the Debian, now that it's so interesting to swap out USB sticks for a different booby JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic
you can output video from a Pogoplug? Do tell. i notice there's pins inside my E02, from memory about 4 pins sitting next to about 8 pins. Is that what you'd output from? Truth be told I hoped it was a SATA port, and really I don't know what it's for.by JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Displays
Sure, today I took out the USB plug and it booted into Pogoplug, so I now see the bootstrapper prefers a USB device. Good and well. I still haven't made my Alarm do any tricks, may have gotten samba and webmin but more likely not. When i take that USB stick back to Windows and run Partition Wizard, the only thing i can't get it to do it resize an Ext3 partition. As-is it doesn't hby JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Debian
SUCCESS! Probably. Arch Linux installed and it rebooted to alarm. So it's updating now, the "pacman" command. Assuming it works, this has been a great learning experience and some basic terminology is sinking in, the commands that extract and mount drives. yeah that's over my head. So i tried the VinnyMac way and same exact error message. Oh well.I'll probably try ArchLinux method and if that don't work, just give it up. Thanks a lot for taking the time to answer those questions bodhi. Greetz everyone. I just got my Pink Pogoplug in the other day and it's an E02. I've mainly been windows for the last couple decades, and various Linux for 10 years but usually set up with help from friends and just use it, don't tinker much. I know how noobs can sound disruptive and whatnot, but if you'll allow me, there's a few things on my mind that I haven't foby JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Debian
