Congrats you guys. The ThinClient I'm using has similar specs and is a great overall desktop computer. But, the SATA drive made a big difference. I'll be watching that video over and over and making goals for next winter. My feelings are, it's still a good time to put the pennies toward any storage medium, whether Sandisk or WD etc. And a big magnifying glass on an arm with a lightby JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic
Check the attachment, it's -one- cost effective way to organize the USB sticks and microSD cards in a familiar theme. So in this case, one row is for Pogoplug E02, another for Pogoplug Mobile and a third for Beelink X2. Second tray = Pogoplug Pro, DreamPlug and TBA It's not quite pressed into service yet and I can already grasp some improvements, such as a case with hinges inby JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic

There's a somewhat hard lesson I learned about Renesas USB 3.0 but it's on the Windows side. I've installed two USB 3.0 PCIE cards in desktop computers, Renesas being a very inexpensive chipset brand. Performance is incredible, but there's an Achilles heel. If there's any sleep mode, the units are pulled offline and not accessible. I tried an entire day to update the firmby JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic

Thanks you guys. Although audio devices aren't as crucial as networking devices, those slightly-over $1 audio USB things you recommended a while back (specifically this and this) have been fantastic for diagnostics, and I've never lacked audio since. Little miracles. And you can't forget the Realtek wireless USB nightmare we had a while back. So Atheros is it then. I made an ofby JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic
My debit card (Bluebird) works within the States only, but PayPal is another story - long story short it's rare I get any money on it. And now with $10 on it I'd like to maximize a Chinese parts order. Regular Atheros 150Mbps USB wireless units are $4 apiece, but some generic units cost less and are 300Mbps. Barring further advice I might order 2 x 150 Mbps and have reliable wireleby JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic

FWIW, I tried an SD card with adapter plugged into the side of Dreamplug, and that didn't work. Flashed a USB stick and tried that. Removed internal microSD card and tried both ways again. I don't think the DreamPlug is shot, just needs serial console. Bodhi, one of those links bodhi wasn't connected to anything. Is this mandatory to access this direct from another computer and not through router? I flashed FreedomBox and before and after there's no mention of this from the router. The Dreamplug has the green light and the ethernet area flashes, but both ethernets aren't mentioned by the router. And that's where I'm at right now. -no I tried it manually. I suppose this needs serialby JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic
Almost prepped, I got the image and am searching around for a microSD card. Found instructions to open the case and will do that soon. Kind of tempted to just flash the image onto the card that's inside. For now the wireless isn't a priority as I've got a few spare routers and I could position one higher up to get better neighborhood coverage. I could test on my E02 soon. It comes down to the fact my USB stick (a PNY USB 3.0 - which now has my respect but not 2.0 PNYs) has been pounded for around 2 years and I'm about to clone it to a SanDisk before it fails. Thank to you for the links, great software. While nothing I tried worked any better for Github, I think there's many things going on behind the scenes that affect quality and interruption. Case in point: today I discovered a GMail account I made 10 years ago and never used. 1500 junk emails inbox, nothing in the outbox, no ins and no outs. FWIW I was using Iron (Chrome source that's set to paranoid lol) but I was logged-in. So I'll try with Firefox as soon as possible. No, from browser it goes 2 minutes and then calls itself complete again. I know most people have faster lines than me but with Github's nerdy (in a good way) reputation I'd have thought they would have a more reliable way to get stuff to you. Unless someone has other ideas, I can wait and try a faster line next time I'm around the hospital and their wireless connection. Weariby JoeyPogoPlugE02 - Off-Topic
