Glad some folks came around that know more about this than I do! Just for reference, the info I posted above is for my E02. Good luck!by tegsirat - Debian
Okay, so this is getting a bit beyond me knowing what I'm talking about (only been using linux for around one year). You have a newer version of the kernel, and this is probably where the problem is coming in. Additionally, it would appear that you are on a ARMv6 rather than an ARMv5 processor: mine: -bash-3.2# uname -a Linux Pogoplug 2.6.22.18 #44 Mon Aug 10 12:57:36 PDT 2009 aby tegsirat - Debian
Not sure what's going on here, but i can add the following that (might) help: I purchased two PogoPinks back in August. I hacked one using Jeff's script (with no issues) and the other one is still running as a 'real' pogoplug (my wife wants to listen to her music from anywhere). I'm ssh'd into my (factory) PogoPink right now, and here's what i get when i &by tegsirat - Debian
So I found some DP-152s with a Sitronix chip on the web, and ordered four of them a couple of weeks ago. I have been running a hacked one since January or so, and it has served me well. I have recently renewed my interest in the whole dockstar/pogoplug thing, and decided my three new pink pogos needed screens. When I attempted to hack them with the same hack setup that i used on my original,by tegsirat - Displays
Honestly, I don't remember what i did, but I know it won't boot anymore. I think I may have been messing around with the NVRAM or something. Bottom line - the thing is broken, and I can't figure out how to hook it up to a serial cable to see what's going on with it. I have the right cable (3.3v), but still nothing.. This post makes me sound like an idiot, sorry.by tegsirat - Debian
So when I first started following the whole dockstar thing about a year ago, I purchased a Dockstar and started hacking. At the time, I wasn't aware of this board and how awesome it is. I loaded it up with Archlinux, and started playing with it. Somehow, I killed it. As i remember, it was something to do with me messing with the FSTAB, but it's been awhile. I subsequently purchaseby tegsirat - Debian
I've got three Western Digital MyBooks attached to mine, they all spin down with no problem. They are three different styles/vintages, if it matters. I also have one attached to my (Factory) PinkPogo. It spins down just fine, too.by tegsirat - Debian
All: so i finally figured out how to get LCD4Linux to show true free disk space. If you remember, I was trying to get it to show this late last year, and never could. I just finally got around to messing with it, and it works well. I want to post it on here, as somebody else may be wanting the same things Don't know if anyone cares anymore, but here's how i have it set up: I waby tegsirat - Displays
i'm doing the exact same thing. from my cron file: /usr/bin/rsync -av --log-file=/home/toliver/rlog.txt --temp-dir=/media/harddrive98/tmp --port=55555 --delete /media/harddrive45/ /media/harddrive98 runs at 2am nightly. i even have it emailing me reports!by tegsirat - Debian
i have it working on mine. it's sending rsync daily logs to my external email so i can keep tabs on things. took a while to figure it out, but once i figured it out, it was really easy. I'm using webmin, but this doesn't require webmin. here's what i did: installed postfix installed mailutils edited (via webmin, but you can do it from anything) my /etc/postfix/mby tegsirat - Debian
peter - been a busy end of year, and i just got a chance to install this. not pretty, but it works great! i need to play around with dstat to get a better idea of what this thing can do, but it definitely works. thanks!by tegsirat - Displays
Peter: That would be awesome. I just installed dstat, and i think it will do the job with some proper formatting... It won't have all of the 'fancy' bars and scrolling info and whatnot, but it will do what i'm looking for. so - if you can find the time - it'd be awesome if you could make it happen!by tegsirat - Displays
Peter, Tried the rc.local thing for hotplugging. no workey. i poked around in the kernel log and system log, but couldn't find anything useful. i'm not sure how to proceed.by tegsirat - Displays
ah, and i have some other strangeness: i finally updated my config file earlier, and i am getting the same value from rat's post above. the strange thing is, it wasn't showing the same available space values as -df from the command line. i put in my own multiplier as a test, and it seemed to work. i continued to add sections for my other three drives, and now all four entries are shoby tegsirat - Displays
Peter: thanks for the info. i will try it. one question - it looks like your code will just start lcd4linux. what happens when i disconnect? i'm thinking that it will keep running, which may cause issues. i'll give it a swing. Rgtaa: no worries - i figured it was something like this. All: on the button thing, i figured it be simpler. i know lcd4linux will support button pby tegsirat - Displays
Rat: thanks for all of your help, the disk space thing is just what i was looking for! Rgtaa: i'm a dummy, i can't figure it out. i read every page on this forum again, and it doesn't make sense exactly what needs to be done to have this thing hotplug and automatically start and stop lcd4linux. all: nobody has any idea on getting the buttons to work?!?by tegsirat - Displays
Guys, thanks for all of the help. rgtaa: I read through the entire forum, and maybe i'm a dummy, but i am a bit confused between the ST2205term, displaylink, etc. Do you have a concise code example of how to get the hotplug to work? As for the buttons, it'd be amazing if we could get these to 'work'. LCD4Linux has some built in stuff to do this, but i don't knowby tegsirat - Displays
First, let me thank everyone for working on this. it is amazing. i've been using the DP-152 with my dockstar for about a month, and i have come up with a few questions about lcd4linux and the DP-152 itself. This may not be the best place to ask these questions, but i'm not really sure who else to ask. I am concerned about the life of my DP-152. i have removed the internal batteryby tegsirat - Displays
