@dms, @superelchi I'm interested in this 240x320 DPF! A few questions though: Can it be powed over USB (without batteries)? If the frame cannot be powered via USB, do you think it can run off 5v instead of 3v? Batteries aren't an option here Do you think it's possible to mod the firmware for landscape mode? P.S. excited about the new dpf-ax version, will definitely flaby mrlinux - Displays
So I decided to write a setpic-like utility for sending still images to dpf-ax frames. It supports png, jpg and gif formats, although gif is untested. It supports automatic resizing, either preserving aspect ratio or filling the frame. I also threw in a mode to fill the screen with a solid RGB color. This is definitely a work in progress but I thought I'd share anyway. I wrote it mainby mrlinux - Displays
@ax206geek I sent sprite a message, thanks! As far as the contrast goes, I took the initial contrast code from lcdinit.s of abeyerr_black, adjusted the lcalls to work with my firmware, and tried it. It was extremely washed out... so from there it was trial and error adjusting the second mov. If the black is too bright, the value is too high... if the white is too dark, the value is too loby mrlinux - Displays
@superelchi Thanks for adding my model to the repo, I've tested a clean checkout and it works as expected (: After some additional testing I've cleaned up the contrast a bit in lcdinit.s... screen looks much better IMHO. Inspiration came from abeyerr_black + trial and error. Here's a patch, hope inline is okay --- lcdinit.s.old 2012-08-05 03:21:29.222999970 -0700 +++by mrlinux - Displays
Success! I got my coby dp151BW working with dpf-ax (: Thanks go to hackfin, superelchi and whoever wrote support for coby_dp151_white and abeyerr_black, which I studied and compared with my firmware dump. These should be the required files to make the dpf-ax firmware work correctly on a coby_dp151_BW: http://db.tt/H0gtU2WC Please add support for this device to the repo if possible.by mrlinux - Displays
Finally got firmware to actually build for me. For the sake of google researchers, these were my problems: 1) A Makefile used "pyversions", which I don't have on my system. Edited the makefile to hardcode my python library directory as a workaround 2) My SDCC was too old, had to upgrade it to 2.9.0. Otherwise I was spammed with ASLINK errors 3) I did not have intelhex inby mrlinux - Displays
@superelchi By all means, enjoy your vacation (: I've been trying to figure it out myself but I get exotic looking errors when compiling the firmware for some reason. Fixed a few, so at least I'm getting some practice. Hopefully I'll have a few decent changes by the time you get back Mrlinuxby mrlinux - Displays
Hey everyone! @superelchi I have a coby dp151bw. I've flashed coby_dp151_white, but I get a black screen. I also tried several other firmware images... agk_violet produces colored stripes. Perhaps this is a different version of the 151. Back on original firmware for now dump of my original firwmare: http://db.tt/QCoZMUeW python identify.py full.bin Looking for firmware.by mrlinux - Displays
