I personally use punk.uchicago.edu for my mirror. It's a little slow to update by the download speeds have been great for me as it's a local mirror. A little update to one of the drives I listed... I had my Geek Squad thumbdrive (PNY Rebranded I later found out) in my Atom based mITX Linux Box for about 2 years. When it comes to Linux, the only way to really learn (and to get yourself out of the noob phase) is to ruin (yes, ruin. Not a typo of "run") several installations. Absolutely not kidding about this. When I first had Linux to install from floppies and CDs, the appeal wasn't quite there. It was still fairly static no matter what I did. When distros had live package installers aby rat - Debian
Check /etc/fstab and make sure that your static file system info is correct. You may (or may not) have UUID strings in there that are pointing to the old flash drive instead of the new hard drive. I'd check to see if the mount points are correct as well.by rat - Debian

I have my DP151SX hacked and after considering what I'd need to do, I think I prefer the Shift3 (even despite the battery icon) if only because it's the simplest solution and requires no modifications or additions for me to have something that works.
