U-Boot - GoFlexNet environment problem
October 31, 2016 09:30AM
Hello,
I started uploading new U-Boat on goflex net and everything went well until I entered this command:
flash_erase / dev / mtd0 0xc0000 1
before entered the command to load the new file uboot.environment the device restart, and now I have this at boot:

U-Boot 2016.05-tld-1 (Jun 12 2016 - 13:27:19 -0700)
Seagate GoFlex Net

SoC: Kirkwood 88F6281_A1
DRAM: 128 MiB
WARNING: Caches not enabled
NAND: 256 MiB
*** Warning - bad CRC, using default environment

In: serial
Out: serial
Err: serial
Net: egiga0
88E1116 Initialized on egiga0
Hit any key to stop autoboot: 0

Have you got any idea how to fix this problem?
thank you

See here for how to reset the envs :
http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,14351,23556#msg-23556

The above linked instruction is for an older version of u-boot for the NSA325, but it is the similar for all Kirkwood boxes. Make sure you enter the correct info in step 2

2. Plug the USB rootfs into the GoFlex Net and power up, interrupt serial console. At the prompt:

run bootcmd_uenv
setenv arcNumber 3089
setenv machid

Unfortunately, the situation has worsened: now the boot doesn't start. Also using the UART booting with kwbtool it waits for reboot but nothing.
Is it definitily brick and die?
Is there another way ?
thank you

Then it should be fine with kwboot, try that again. What you did can not mess up the serial port. Power down, run kwboot, and power up.

I have already tried several times but does not load the boot.
is it the only way to unbrick to use the jtag method?

I have a raspberry and i have already prepared the cable and I read the topic: HOW2: Repair Pogo E02 with Raspberry PI (1,2 or 3) JTAG and OpenOCD.
Is the file .cfg for the Goflex the same for dockstar (http://plume.redox.ws/article13/dockstar-debricking-jtag-with-buspirate) ?
And is the boot file http://download.doozan.com/uboot/files/uboot/uboot.mtd0.goflexnet.original.kwb correct ?

Thank you very much for your time and sorry for my english.

Hi,
now the goflex is visibile on the serial but when I boot it with kwboot the answer is the same to the first message I've posted.
I've saw the topic http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,14351,23556#msg-23556
so I have to create a bootable usb with debian like 3.8.15 version and then copy the file uboot.2016.05-tld-1.environment in /boot/uEnv.txt of the USB.

Is it ok what i have understood?
thank you

Yes, use that instruction. But use the latest Debian roofs which is Debian-4.4.0-kirkwood-tld-1-rootfs-bodhi.tar.bz2 (20 Feb 2016) .
