Failed to Install latest kernel to NSA310S
June 17, 2020 02:56PM
Hi! I have an NSA310S on which I would like to install the latest linux kernel (and OMV later), but unfortunately failed.

I have updated tha U-boot to the latest and i have only changed the MAC address in the envs. I have prepared my 4Gb Flash Disk with the kernel (Formated to EXT3 with rootfs label and extracted the bz2 file to the root).

My envs:

You're missing a space after the last 'bootm'

Your USB rootfs partition was not prepared correctly. So it failed all the tests and end up using a default bootcmd (which I had a typo, like renojim mentioned above). This env should never be executed if the USB partition is good.

So make sure that you wipe out the 4GB thumb drive with fdisk (to make sure everything is clean), and recreate the rootfs using Debian-5.2.9-kirkwood-tld-1-rootfs-bodhi.tar.bz2. Remember to do everything as root user (sudo will not work).

Which brand is this 4GB thumb drive?
