Thank you, appreciate it!
Probably a dumb question, but I couldn't find any answer anywhere, so here it goes...
Why are some files named using "kirkwood" and others using "kikrwood"?
Kernel installs just fine, but should we leave this naming alone, and do not try to rename "config*" and "zImage*"?
Thanks!

Bodhi,

Been meaning to say something, the last couple linux upgrades for Kirkwood have had a small error with the zimage after unpacking, it's named " zImage-5.7.1-kikrwood-tld-1" <<<< the k and r are transposed. That's what Nuno is talking about. Note that this transposition does not impact the file itself, I was able to upgrade a Kace M300 to 5.7.1 with no issues.

LME

I noticed after the upgrade to 5.7.1 that there are 2 identical files in the /boot directory, though it doesn't seem to affect anything:

-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 172K Jun 7 21:54 config-5.7.1-kikrwood-tld-1
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 172K Jun 7 21:56 config-5.7.1-kirkwood-tld-1

LME,

Thanks! I carried that typo from previous version when I copied/pasted the name (the kernel generated a plain zImage and I had to copy it to another folder).

All,

That was a typo in the file name. Should be kirkwood.

Kernel linux-5.8.3-kirkwood-tld-1 package has been uploaded. The following features were added/updated:

- BFQ IO Scheduler is now the default in the kernel. This is an improvement in making the system more responsive when under memory stress (Note: use a large swap space to avoid OOM killer).
- Added ISCSI Target capability (as loadable module).
- Updated Zyxel NSA320S capabilty to bring up 3.5" HDD in 2nd slot.

Please see the 1st post for download link.

I just downloaded Debian-5.2.9-kirkwood-tld-1-rootfs-bodhi.tar.bz2, but the sha256 signature does not match the value in the first post. Did something secretly change?

I've just verified my local tarball

UPDATE:

I've just downloaded the tarball and ran shasum again on Mac OS.

You probably made a mistake somewhere.

I swear I'm not crazy, but now it's matching

Was
~/Downloads$ sha256sum Debian-5.2.9-kirkwood-tld-1-rootfs-bodhi.tar.bz2
e3b0c44298fc1c149afbf4c8996fb92427ae41e4649b934ca495991b7852b855 Debian-5.2.9-kirkwood-tld-1-rootfs-bodhi.tar.bz2
~/Downloads$ rm Debian-5.2.9-kirkwood-tld-1-rootfs-bodhi.tar.bz2
(downloaded it again...)
~/Downloads$ md5sum Debian-5.2.9-kirkwood-tld-1-rootfs-bodhi.tar.bz2
d41d8cd98f00b204e9800998ecf8427e Debian-5.2.9-kirkwood-tld-1-rootfs-bodhi.tar.bz2

But this evening it's working correctly. /shrug Thanks for checking. I was able to get a start with the 4.12.1 rootfs (which was verifying) in the meantime.

:) it happens. If you had kept the previous download file, the tarball size might tell the story.

And that's why I only post the hash here. The hash is never available anywhere else. If it is from other websites (sometime people do that in their tutorial using my rootfs tarball) then we can not trust it.

Unless someone can hack both Dropbox and this forum's server, I think we are OK.
