Pogoplug E02 Debian won't boot after install
August 01, 2013 03:54PM
Hey guys. I'm pulling my hair out. I've installed Debian on my Pogoplug Pink E02 using this guide http://projects.doozan.com/debian/. All goes well with the install. I am asked if I want to reboot and I say yes. The SSH connection closes and I'm assuming that the PP is rebooting. I am unable to connect to the device while the USB jump drive is plugged into the PP. I marked the linux partition as bootable. I check on my router and the device does not show up at all.

I saw this post http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?3,14,14 explaining how to install netconsole. Unfortunately I can't figure out what file I should be adding the environment variables to. Can someone tell me where these environment variables need to be added?

I was able to install Arch Linux on the same jump drive without any sort of booting issues. I am using the USB port closest to the network jack.

Any other ideas on what to check and/or try?

I tried installing again. Now instead of not booting at all, it boots to the pogoplug os rather than booting from the jump drive. Can anybody help? Maybe I'm just doing something silly.

You can try either:
1)
- The quickest way to get it boot into Debian is to use this rootfs:
http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,12096

- Next, you can print out uBoot envs while in Debian and we can take a look to see if they are all OK.
fw_printenv
- Set up netconsole while in Debian (there is no file to be added, just environment variables, and using another PC to connect)
http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?3,14,14

OR

2)
- Boot with Arch
- print out uBoot envs so we can take a look.
- setup netconsole while in Arch
