cat /dev/mtdblock0 > mtdblock0_cat.bin cat /dev/mtd0 > mtd0_cat.bin cat /dev/mtd0ro > mtd0ro_cat.binonly seems to work. The content of captured files is basically garbage, it is a repeated block of the same fragment of the flash. For mtdblock0 it is 1KB block repated till 4MB. For mtd0 it is 256KB block repeated till 4MB. I'm not sure if this should work that way or is this even a sensible way to verify if it works.
