Install on a hard disk?

Simple question short:#

Can I install debian directly on a harddisk (preferred on the desk star HDD in the docking bay of my dockstar) AND boot from there?

The question may be weird but I have done the installation already 2 times but the dockstar does not boot from my hard disk or seems to.

Ok - forget this question - the answer is yes. I followed again the documents and now it works. Even the rescue is installed.

Many people have successfully booted from a hard drive. If you're having problems, you should configure netconsole and watch the boot log.
