Free Agent GoFlax Home STAM1000200
October 29, 2010 05:24PM
Hi folks,
simple question: Does Jeffs Debian run on this device: Free Agent GoFlax Home STAM1000200.

If yes, is there something I should know about. Do I have to flash u-boot?

Thanks a lot,
Greetings,
Thomas

The bootloader supports it natively, but the default Debian kernel doesn't support the SATA drives. If you want SATA, you can compile your own kernel with the peaslaker's patches here.

Thanks Jeff,
does that mean that the HD which comes with the STAM1000200 will not work out of the box?

Greetings,
Thomas

Sorry, I misread your original post. I thought you were referring to the GoFlex NET. The current uBoot installer does NOT natively support the GoFlex home.

And it doesn't really need to. It comes unlocked.

The GoFlex Home does not use the Pogoplug software. Instead, it ships out-of-the-box with a bootloader capable of booting from attached USB and SATA drives.

If you attach a serial cable, you can get into the bootloader and configure it to boot off of whatever you want.
