Dockstar is dead afer kernel update please help :-(((

Hi friends,

i have got a big problem wirh my dockstar!

I had installed debian.Works all realy good.
Today i made a apt-update and installed a new kernel.
I was to fast.
The i make a reboot
But now my dockstar is dea!!!
No led is on (systemboard), no network!
Even with serial cable it do nothing :-(
Please help!
Cant be das the dockstar is realy dead only after a kernel update ???
I use a CP2101 to connect dodockstar.
Could someone help me please to get my dockstar to live???

PS:
The powersupply is not dead, that i found out!
If i put a ubs stick oder usb switch on usb port, it gets power!!

But my problem is, that i canßt access with serial cable!
So i cant get access to device.
Device does nothing, no blinking the led, neither network access.
Any idea??

It's hard to tell what's wrong if you can't watch the boot up. But all is not lost. Power it up without your debian stick, and it'll boot back into Pogoplug Linux. I'm pretty sure you can use fw_printenv and fw_setenv from Pogoplug Linux, so you should be able to set up network console like this thread:
http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?3,14,14. Watching the boot sequence will help diagnose and fix the problem. Or you can just start over and re-install debian from Pogoplug Linux.

But even into pogoplug i cant boot.
The LED wont blink on start, i cant see any network action.
How could i test it without seeing the console??

PS:I tried to sniff pakets on lan interface.
No way!
I couldn´t recieve only on paket.
So please, new ideas what i can do :-((

The install leaves the Pogoplug Linux environment intact. The only thing it over writes is the u-boot. It installs a new one that will chain load the original u-boot if it can't find the debian root file system (which is on USB.) The u-boot, Pogoplug Linux, and the original u-boot are all on the NAND. If Pogoplug Linux isn't loading, then I can only presume you did something bad to the NAND, but I can't imagine what you could've done. Apt-get will only modify files on the USB drive where your debian system lives.

I dont know whats went wrong.
But i cant boot into pogoplug!
With Wireshark i cant find any network activiety on lan.
Direct link from laptop to dockstar!
Network interface is active, but nothing send over it.
so i cant find mac, and ip for pogoplug dockstar os.
Whats the dockstar default ip?
The CPU gets hot, if the dockstar is sometime on.
I dont know if the nand has got a defect.
Cant believe it.
Was as i told only a kernel update.
But why i cant see output on serial console?
Connect over a pc2102 usb adapter to dockstar.
No output.
Must i use a jtag adapter and flash uboot again?
Maybe the nand is defect?

You might still be able to find it. It defaults with an IP address in the 169.254 range. See this:

Cant find the docstar inside my network!
even with wireshark and direkt connect cant sniff any pakets :-((
What can i do now?
Only Jtag.

And even again, no LEDs are blinking, even not for network.

I've the same problem. I tryed to install Openwrt, and after reboot, no led is blinking, no serial interface, nothing! switchgott, do you found any sollution about that?
