Hello Dockstar Freaks :)
Today I got my Dockstar and I am very happy. But I have some problems and a few questions.
What I have done till now:
- disabled Pogoplug Software, formatted a 4GB USB Stick with 3,5GB and 512MB as Swap.
- followed this tutorial (because it is the newest updated i could find):
http://mein.homelinux.com/wiki/dockstar/installationsanleitung_debian
(All other Tutorials have some things missing or use the old Lenny)
But now I have some problems with the Install Script of Doozan:
after "./dockstar.debian-squeeze.sh" I got some error:
I: Retrieving xxx
I: Validating xxx
W:
http://cdn.debian.net/debian/xxx.deb was corrupt
W: Couldn't download package xxx
This is the Error for the most of the packets. So the Installation of debootstrap failed.
Any fix for this?
EDIT: Found excactly my problem:
http://forum.doozan.com/read.php?2,4269,4269
EDIT2: wget can still download the URL manually, but the md5 verify methof at script fails.
EDIT3: Instead of the Squeeze Script, Lenny Install does work! *weird*
I also have some other questions:
- Is it possible to install any packets with aptitude? (or do I have to change some apt sources to only get ARM files?)
- Is it possible to update the kernel? Is this Debian kernel optimized for the Dockstar?
- Whats about the ext filesystem of the USB Stick, I read that ext2 decrease the speed to 60% and betteruse ext4 instead. If so, how to do?
- What is plugapps.com and the pluggapps kernel?
This is not Debian anymore (but I like and know Debian)
What are the differences? Should I better use this? (optimized Kernel, special Apps wia repository update and such)
EDIT4:
I am now using Debian Lenny, because the Squeeze Script fails.
I tried some kernel replacement for the old kirkwood kernel, but no success (uImage load fails after reboot)
What Kernel should I use?
(Ihr könnt mir auch auf deutsch antworten)
