dockstar.debian-squeeze.sh failed on dockstar

Posted by Bill
I'm new to linux and just got the dockstar a few days ago. Can anyone help? Thanks.

ran ./dockstar.debian-squeeze.sh and got error message as below.

Bill,

I had the same problem. This topic has the answer that appears to be working for me, but it is still installing.

It seemed to be working, but now I get the problems detailed in this thread:

I used the script for lenny and it worked. I guess I will use the old version for now.

What's difference between the 2 versions?

Okay, where do I get this script for lenny? I don't know the difference though. I'm just installing for the first time.

I'm posting here because this is the most recent thread on the subject. That script apparently installs directly to the NAND in the DockStar. Is this the case? Is there an option for just installing on to a flash drive?

^ No, it installs to a flash drive itself. Only the necessary files needed to complete the installation are written to the NAND. There is no difference between that script and Jeff's other than the issue with debootstrap which has been fixed in the former.

After install Lenny upgrading to Squeeze is very simple. You should edit the /etc/apt/sources.list file and add the line "deb http://ftp.us.debian.org/debian squeeze main contrib non-free" (you can then delete the rest of the lines) first. After that, do "apt-get update" and "apt-get dist-upgrade" to upgrade Debian to Squeeze.
