How to mount a USB drive

Hi all,
I am struggling to mount a USB connected CD rom drive. I assume this is because the kernal does not have ISO9660 modules?
When I execute: cat /proc/filesystems
I do not see ISO9660.
Any help what to do next much appreciated?
Thanks
