Access NAND/uBoot from Debian
July 26, 2012 04:41AM
Hello,

my Dockstar does not boot into the Pogoplug-Linux anymore. Or at least it does not have an IP that I can SSH to. I can however boot Debian from an USB-stick.
So my question is, whether there is a chance to access the NAND or uBoot from Debian, to fix the broken boot loader (or Pogoplug IP settings).
It's too late for netconsole now so I would have to buy a serial cable otherwise.

If you install mtd-utils
apt-get install mtd-utils
you can flash sth to NAND or update U-Boot using nandwrite.

And if you want to change U-Boot environmental variables, you can install uboot-envtools
apt-get install uboot-envtools
and use fw_setenv and fw_printenv
