arcNumber=2998 on rescue system doesn't boot (dockstar)

i have a dockstar and put the latest uboot and rescue system on it.

when i set arcNumber to 2998 it doesn't boot and gives this message:

Error: unrecognized/unsupported machine ID (r1 = 0x00000bb6).

Please check your kernel config and/or bootloader.

if i set arcNumber = 2097 it will boot fine.

possibly of interest is the pogoplug distro doesn't boot with arcNumber = 2998

it gets as far as uncompressing the kernel and hangs

Starting kernel ...

Uncompressing Linux... done, booting the kernel.

debian testing/squeeze will boot with it at either value.

mainly as long as i can get into debian i'm happy and i'd have to change the arcNumber if i need the recovery distro.


a big thanks to jeff for making the install scripts and doing the heavy lifting!

maybe i spoke too soon on the debian thing.

it would boot and seems to lock up after the login prompt displays.

i set the arcNumber back to 2097 and will just leave it like that for now.
