More quad-core alternatives to the A10, with better docs and Linux support, are on their way!

The ODROID has two versions - 1.4Ghz 1GB at $ 69, and 1.7Ghz 2GB at $89. Both come with Exynos SoC like in Galaxy S3. They are bare boards with big aluminum heat sink as the case. Good price!

You're right, it seems to be a really really good platform.
Need a eMMC to make it fun (25$)... and a wifi adapter.
You have the perfect killer micro platform for $120 with the latest exynos.
Just missing a little sata plug ;-)

Guillaume, how does eMMC work? like a block device, similar to SD card?

Yep, like a sd, appear as a mmcblk.
More easier than nand (and faster (and is upgradeable)).

This is a great deal even after adding shipping to the US ($30)! Faster than NAND? wow. It could be a XBMC media player and development environment at the same time.

that FastEthernet via USB is really enough to stream 1080p gracefully?!?

With 100Mb ethernet, you can certainly stream *typical* 1080p MKVs (depending on bitrate). However, I don't think it's enough bandwidth to stream full BluRay rips.

I'm asking cos I read people using Mele as media server complaining it doesn't stream 1080p enough smoothly

and decent linux support .. looks quality made as well :-) .. got one on order ..

I'm still waiting to get imx6 device, but plan to do so soon, and will post commentary on it once it arrives.

In the meantime I got a new $199 (actually it was £199 over here) Acer C7 Intel i3 Chromebook. Very nice! It is now running Fedora 17 like my other Intel systems. Highly recommended!
