Amazon Prime Day (Mon-Tues) $40 Fire HD 8" Amazon tablet etc

I'm not sure if I'll get anything, but that Fire tablet could be good. If it's flashable with anything that could be even better.

Doesn't one have to be a non-free Amazon Prime member to be able to purchase such an item at such a price?

These are Prime deals yes, but I get Prime and cancel all the time. Even the 10.1" version of that Fire, all of a sudden you're at $109 (Prime Day) seems like a gouge.

There are times I started a free Prime trial and what I then ordered turned out not to be Prime, meaning no help with shipping.

But even that price quoted above is for aversion of this that plays ads during screenlock. To get a version without that, it's $79.99. So it's something that should be flashed with anything other than itself right away.

I could really use a quality tablet after 4 years with my 10.1 with a screen that sears your eyes.

Wow, I didn't know Amazon didn't flag you for doing this.

Anyway, I did get some Amazon Fire 7" a few years back and they all went caput after a year of usage. OTOH, there wasn't any hack to flash the gadget with other Android OSes, IIRC.

That's a drag, My cheap one has worked fantastic since rooting it way back when. But it's a version of Android I can't use with something i want to use it for (Presonus controller app). Other than that, an argument could be made Amazon can be a bit evil. Prime Day(s) have people spending just because they think an opportunity will be lost. I don't mind ripping off "the man" by getting a great deal on a monitor but I don't see any deals this year that are prices that go from super gouge to regular gouge, Apple products especially.

FAANG: Facebook, Amazon, Apple, Netflix and Google. Something or other.

I should get a bag instead.

Sorry I didn't see that. For me it would only be for shipping so their movies and all the other stuff isn't interesting to me.

Prime can be started for free when they offer it as a promotion. If you didn't get any use out of it, you can stop Prime before incurring the next month's autopay After that, when you cancel you should get the refund. There's no reason that's fraud.
