Move Ubuntu server to Esxi

Hey Guys.

I have an Ubuntu 18.04 server running for some time, but upgraded server and decided, to try spinning it up on Esxi.
The VM converter, standalone does not support Ubuntu 18.04, so it fails to convert the server to VM.
Can it be a solution to make a docker image of the old server and run it on a new Ubuntu install in the vm?

Any other thoughts?

my advice would be to create a new supported image on the esxi platform and then transfer you configuration files and data across to this image.

help around docker would be best served on a docker specific forum

Thank you Gravelrash, I think I will do that. And when running VM I see no need for the use of docker :)
