Are ARM processors cache deficient?

I never get far away from reviews about some octa-core ARM boxes that are sluggish doing medium weight processing. I just wonder if they got their ratio wrong, say if there were more generous cache and fewer than eight cores?

I came here just to mention the secret that's in plain sight: this time of the year we could get stupefying deals on jail broken cellphones or other wonder boxes.

Edited to say I don't know where any of the deals are and also I just noticed I've been here 5 years which, seems like 1 or 10 but not 5!

what slows most ARM devices down, isn't so much core speed. its the quality or lack thereof particularly pertaining to GPU

Not the cache.

Agreed with Gravelrash there about GPU.

Also when you run Octacore, likely it's bigLitte and sometime it is not performing to the high performance 8 core should .

Searching for "bigLitte" it Wikipedia'd to this page which explains this. I learned a lot and bookmarked things to re-learn. One surprise was that ARM Holdings is Japanese and British. I thought for sure it was Chinese.

It was British. The Japanese Softbank bought ARM Holding. So they can export the license to Chinese companies, because the intellectual property (IP) is not bound to any US IPs, i.e. not effected by US sanction/trade war stuff.

Nothing unusual for Apple to switch architectures - RISC to X86 and now to RISC again, well its descendant ARM
