I have this Coby dp180. It is 1.8 inches in size. 128 by 160 pixels.
I can not find any information on it.
It appears to be an ax206 type unit.
I used hackfin on it to recover dump from one unit and flashed it to another unit.

If anything can be done it would be great.

Wow a new resolution!

You are right it's a buildwin one.
Give me a day or two to add it...

Thanks for the reply superelchi.
Looking forward to the addition.
I hope to do some things with it.
I have two units and the Progspi works flawslessly on it.

Also thanks for the support, great work.

First, thanks for the update. I get the two googly eyes! (cute).
I used SPI Programmer to flash it.
The display works but it shows in landscape mode with the right hand side truncated by about 20% and blank
or colored pixels.

My impression is it would all be ok in portrait mode. I checked the various menu items and I can't see anything to switch from
landscape to portrait.

Otherwise its great and seems to be on the correct path.

If it is any help I can send some pictures.

Let me know if you want pictures.

Thanks

It works!

Thanks, your the man.

I tried all the functions and they seem to work.

I will be trying this on openwrt router (wrt160nl).

I have used the st2205 type frames on it on.

I have to build the software next.

The profile in landscape is nice.

Thanks again for your efforts.

I'll post to this note my results once I get the lcd4linux.conf configured.

Fine.
So I will add this dpf to svn - as soon as version 0.4 is ready.

I can confirm at this time that this version now works on a wrt160nl.
I used an existing Openwrt Attitude Adjustment, r35864 and package lcd4linux-dpf_r1184-2_ar71xx_MPD2.ipk provided by member dddesign and it worked.

I'm still having issues building my own package.

Thanks again for the support superelchi and dddesign.

A quick heads up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
There seems to be differences in between these DP180!

I used SPI Programmer from Pearl_DPF_Hackfin.

I just flashed my second new unit and all text and images are upside down and backwards.

Flash ID was 25VF080b.

It flashed ok otherwise.

Further update on this:
I flashed back the factory backup image from the original unit....then re-flashed it with the bin file and it seem to flash correctly so not sure why.

I found out one other thing, it seems there are at least two series of these unit some starting with the 0431xxxxxxxx seem to flash ok and others with number sequence 0841xxxxxxxxx do not seem to take the dpf-ax image.
So I got 2 out of 4 units now correctly flashed.

Some caution is needed with these units as nothing seems to be guaranteed.

Well I just keep updating.
I searched this forum based on info about Flash ID
Please wait for checking Flash ID
FLASH info is Cmd-9f:ID:0xc84014c8
FLASH info is Cmd-ab:ID:0x13131313
FLASH info is Cmd-90:ID:0xc813c813.

Found an updated Flashlib and dropped into ProgSPI and voila! I now have a third set of "googly eyes".

Seems most of these items are covered in this forum. One just has to do some digging.

Thanks again to superelchi and others for their good work.
Hopefully the last post but maybe the info will help someone.

Hi John,

if one of your dpfs does not work with the coby_dp180 fw it will for sure have a different lcd. Not unusual. For example Linkdelight seems to change hardware every other day. In the svn are currently 6 different fws for Linkdelight (7 if you count taobao, which is also used by some Linkdelights).
So please post the original dump of the non-working one and I will add it.

Thanks superelchi.

Unfortunately, I lost track of which one was the original.

It seems I can flash these firmware back and forth between units.
It was detecting the memory flash type where it hung.

If I get another unit I'll update the factory firmware and post.

Hi John,

if you like, you can just upload all fws and identify.py will show me the black sheep. ;-)

Here is a setup that I used on a WRT160nl.
It is running Gargoyle with openwrt-dpf_r1184-2.tar installed.
The DP180 provides wireless and Eth0 data, etc.

I have included the lcd4linux.conf also.

I use this in wireless repeater mode to connect to the subscriber dsl wireless modem from my local Telco.

I hope someone can use this and it will quickly get them going; part of payback for all those that helped me.

Hi superelchi,

Thanks, it stands to reason but I wasn't sure. The thing is I can flash the same original dpf-dump to any of the
four units I have so it agrees with your findings.

I could still have missed one dpf_dump as I was busy trying all sorts of things.

Probably more finger problems than anything else.

What do you think of the picture I posted above on the display and the .conf file?

Okay. Without a dump there is nothing I can do.

Update:
Have three DP180 displays up and running.
Two based on openwrt routers RS Pro and wrt160nl.

The other on RPi raspian 3.6.11.

Up for two days and no problems so far.

Displays seem solid.
