I thought omv-extras and its plugins weren't supported on armel... what would one gain from installing it?by archon - Debian
bodhi, For compatibility reasons, I want to reinstall my rootfs with Stretch instead of Buster. Is it possible to do this and get network + SSH without using the serial connection again?by archon - Debian
Well bodhi, unsurprisingly you were right. Log attached. After completing the 25 aug section and then the uboot flashing guide, I'm pleased to report I got it all up and running without errors. I only hit one snag here: Quotee.2 Box specific envs: Then for all boxes, restore these 2 envs using the saved envs text in step c (replace xxx with the real saved values) fw_setenv mtdparby archon - Debian
So I've decided to dust off this NAS after 5 years and try this again, but I'm a dummy and got overwhelmed by the instructions. I have a working serial connection and can successfully log in from Ubuntu using kwboot -t -B 115200 /dev/ttyUSB0 -b uboot.2017.07-tld-1.nsa325.mtd0.kwb -p and run commands, but I'm not sure where to go from there to flash latest uboot and get Debian oby archon - Debian
bodhi Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > I see. I assumed you were connecting with SSH. Yeah, my mistake. For some reason I assumed the instructions were supposed to be run via serial link only. Anyway, I'll try the kwboot probably over the weekend. Will let you know.by archon - uBoot
bodhi Wrote: ------------------------------------------------------- > - Make sure you serial console works. Did it work before? I'm not following you here. The serial console (as in, the USB to UART adapter's) is how I accessed the device in the first place and ran the commands mentioned above, so obviously it worked before. It doesn't now, and that's the problem. Weby archon - uBoot
bodhi, Thanks for the fast reply. Indeed, I was trying to install your latest uBoot. I'm setting up the NAS from scratch after a run to_stock, so there's no OS installed yet to boot into. Actually, I got the steps mixed up in my previous post. I didn't stop at editing /etc/fw_env.config (step 1), but after step 2, where I ran fw_printenv ethaddr and got an "ethaddr not dby archon - uBoot
@bodhi Hopefully you can help me recover from a blunder I made on NSA325v2. I edited /etc/fw_env.config with /dev/mtd0 0xc0000 0x20000 0x20000 as indicated, and before doing anything else, I ran a reboot command. Now I'm not getting any response from the device on the serial interface (the connection is made but there's no text). I tried unplugging and replugging etc... still nothingby archon - uBoot
@bodhi It was unclear which commands have to be run and which don't, but I think I understand better now. I'll wait for the formal release then. Thanks.by archon - uBoot
Hi bodhi, Is there any chance you could provide complete step by step instructions to flashing the latest uboot on NSA325 in a single post? As it is, the information is scattered across multiple posts (some of which I don't quite understand), which makes it very confusing to follow.by archon - uBoot
